I will do that because he wonders how little he lost and how much he works out. I guess it is the rason you said. He does more workout then food thing.

Just take it slowly LD. And remember riding is also good exercise, especially for worming up every muscle in your body.

I've been walking and/or biking for at least 30 minutes in the afternoons, trying to work my way up to 1 hour (which I did Wednesday). But yesterday I decided to pull out my cardio DVDs and did a 40 minute session. WOW! I am so sore today - butt, legs, abs, back, everywhere except my arms really. I guess I need to do those DVDs at least every once in a more often. Of course when I start riding once a week again, I'm sure I will be really sore from that as well!

Wow, this is kind of motivational! I've been lazy the past few years and put on some weight. It's creeped up and now that summers here and my shorts no longer fit (you know, now we're past the 'oh they're just a little tighter' point) I'm trying to get motivated to get back into shape. Maybe we can all tackle it together and help hold each other accountable. My bf has the same goal but his body tends to be more forgiving. He doesn't have to change his diet, only his activity level and he sees huge changes. It can be disheartening since in order to change myself I have to make a conscious effort to eat better and up my activity level significantly. It's not too late for a bikini body right? Right!? Lol ?

Thats wonderful Lip, Ill bet he feels better too:)
Rookiehooves, I know the feeling, my legs are awful, Im too embarassed to even wear shorts, I have skinny legs from the knee down and used to have tight thighs but the last couple years its piled on my thighs and now the cellulite is so bad Im ashamed to show them, I didnt actually realise how awful I looked till I saw a recent picture!
Im actually starting again today and am starting to run as in x country running up the fields, I used to do this when younger but stopped as I have a bad ankle but Im thinking its not like Im competing at it just trying to lose weight and get fit so should be easier on it, they say running is the best way to lose weight and get fit so anyway here goes!
Hope you find that motivation and stick to it and see results, never too late for a bikini bod!

I've been trying to be a little more active as well and trying to do my best to watch what I am eating and when I am eating. I'm not buying my son snacks that I really like in order to try and limit my temptation at home. It's not so bad at work as I can only eat what I bring with me. The other thing I have discovered recently is that if I nurse a cup of coffee in the morning hours, I'm not as hungry when it's time to eat lunch (and in fact have actually skipped lunch without realizing it until later in the afternoon on a few days). I have dropped a few pounds. Not sure if it is from all that or from me getting off my birth control pills for the last month or so (I need to go to the doc for a refill and have just been putting it off). I also found this fitness gal on FB that I really like her way of thinking. Here's her page: www.facebook.com/nataliejillfit?fref=ts She posts quick videos almost daily and it's kind of nice because all the ones I've done so far are under 10 minutes. She doesn't believe that you need to do an hour of steady cardio everyday to lose weight (which is what I have been doing). Check her out if you get a chance. I just ordered her Rev 4 program that I plan to start today. I will let everyone know how that is going once I get into it a bit. Keep up the good work girls!! We can do this! (but we also should be happy with who we are, inside and out).

One of my friends started this weird diet a month ago, you eat for only 8 hours but whatever you want, well I dont think its working, she said shes lost nothing but gained nothing, not impressed!
I started the myfitnesspal app again today, it really helps stop me eating as much, my recommended intake is 1200 calories, I knock it down to 1000, that way I stay under and lose it fast, I managed before on it, first week is hard till my stomach shrinks but after that it gets easier:)
Im so crap at exercising, I think I need to go to a class, I may do that in the future, I need pushed!

Does anyone else use myfitnesspal?
Just wondering if we could link up somehow on it to motivate each other, be less likely to cheat!
Its funny how just days after the weekend just stopping drinking and keeping calories low I lose that first 5 lbs easily, yes its gone, I need to lose another 15, the next 5 wont be too bad but the next 10 man I struggle, I havent achieved it in years!

Oh, I thought of another strategy I heard about to help with the evening time snacking - paint your nails in the evening so you can't/won't dip in to that chip bag or whatever it is.
I don't use that app, I really don't use any apps for my fitness. I started the new workout video last night. Boy did it kick my rear! But I'm not as sore today as I expected to be. My heart rate was up, that's for sure. Much more than when I am out biking or power walking. I think I will use those activities for my days "off" now and try to keep with this video series until I can do the exercises without having to modify them. I'm determined to stick with this program for at least 2 weeks. We'll see how that goes!

I've been eating 2 soft boiled eggs and half a slice of toast, I'm still hungry by 11am so then I have a popadom, that keeps me going till lunch, I'm finding it easier to eat less at night so I have a bigger lunch and smaller supper then a snack like ryvita with cheese, I'm still 1-200 under my calorie goal:) Try the eggs, so far they are the best I've found, I have them 7am

I use My Fitness Pal, although I tend to forget to log my food into it. I didn't know you could join up with other people on there. Very interesting. It woks well when I remember to use it.

So Im afraid Ive been a naughty naughty girl and enjoyed my food too much and piled it all back on again and some!
Started cutting calories again yesterday, wasnt easy but by keeping myself busy and a lot of hard talking to myself when I wanted to rip open that bag of potato chips I stayed under my quota, today should be easier, hopefuly!
I did have a real bad tum last night, hardly slept and was up around midnight exploding my guts, hoping it was all just the crap coming out of me and thats it done!
Still not exercising, I just wish I was one of those people that liked it but Im not, Im going to force myself to go running up the field this week, its getting hot so if I sweat faster maybe I wont have to do as much?!

Hope you are feeling better this morning.
I fell off the wagon a little bit too. Started drinking soda again, although not as much as I used too. I have decided to cut down on it again though as once I got past the sugar withdrawal I did feel generally better and my skin improved which surprised me because my skin generally is not bad.
I am back trying to watch my calories.
I too am really bad for not exercising like I should. Once my ribs are healed up a bit I am considering buying some inline skates and doing that in the evenings. I used to really enjoy it as a kid, and the area where I moved to recently has some great little paths around it.

Is anyone else seeing old posts on page 7 of this thread??? The ones at the end of page 6 seem very recent but then back to old posts on page 7.
Anyway, I am trying a new eating system - no more frozen dinners, trying to eliminate as many processed foods as possible. No extra sugar (as best I can). I've lost a bit of weight but I think it may be from being off my birth control for about 2 months. I'm back on it now and carefully watching to see if the weight starts to come back. If it does I will be talking with my doctor about it.
I'm still doing the new workout routines. She works strictly with body weight so no machines or equipment. It's short intervals of high intensity which makes it somewhat bearable. She does not believe in doing hours of cardio which is nice (because i have done that with no results). I'm hoping my weekly riding lessons will help some too.
Keep up the good work gals!
