I'm headed in to town shortly. Any recommendations on what might help sooth my tummy? I think all this stress/anxiety is taking a toll.

The plan is still for Sky to come home tomorrow. I will learn how to use the feeding tube and nose drops. I will be putting more effort in to cleaning up his nose. So congested and even a sore on it. Drops are great, but I will be using an ointment to try and soften it. When talking, Dr M used the phrase "not out of the woods". When pressed she rates his odds at "an optimistic 50/50".

I brought Sky home yesterday, if we can do well he might get to stay. Tube feeding is not nearly as rough as I thought it would be. I do need to find a better place than my lap. I put his cage/kennel in a room we've been storing way to much stuff. I just uploaded a video on youtube of a tube feeding. The room is a mess, but it was not the target of the video. Please ignore that part. The fundraiser, for Sky, on youcaring has been a disaster, need to put video up. They only use youtube, so I'm trying to learn how that works. Anyway, if you'd like to see Sky's videos, we are AnnaSue Marczynski.

He looks great! Ok, well not great but he looks really good for what he's been going through. I hope he continues to improve each day.

Please keep in mind that it is a wonderful step in the right direction, one that I have not seen repeated today. He still needs tubing regularly. But, hope is a precious thing!

What wonderful news!!!!! And he's really going after it, not just nibbling! Keep up the tubing but hopefully as he gains his strength back and starts to feel better, he will eat on his own more and more.

Oh and about soothing your tummy; you may find that slowing your breathing down, as well as remembering to breathe, helps a lot. I also find stress tightens up my throat but consciously s.l.o.w.i.n.g down one's mind and breath helps a great deal.
You're doing great! You really are!

Overdue update; He spent the first night in the cage/kennel that I busted my butt to set up. In the am I got him out to feed and then put him back, was just going to be for a bit. But, he stuck his arm through the wires and looked like he was trying to stick his head through. I opened the door, he walked out and never went back in. I took it down yesterday. He's doing very well, not trying to hide, I always know where he is. He is staying downstairs. I've thought of taking him up, but if he tried to go down and stumbled, not a risk I'm willing to take. He's using the litter boxes great. I do need to video him walking. From above you can really see how sunken in he is. He is a little wobbly, but he is determined to get where he is going! Since he's been home, my stomach hasn't bothered me hardly at all. His being home is good for both of us!

Oh, I made a facebook page for Sky. It's nothing fancy, simple, just like we are. I only wish I knew how to promote things. His fundraiser has hit a stone wall and I don't know how to fix it. It is going to save us a lot of money with him being home, but he will need regular check ups to keep an eye on the feeding tube and all. I'll be taking him in tomorrow. Wish us luck! We have topped $2,000. already. I'm so grateful to see the bill not racing up, but it's still pretty scary. I'm working on making some custom jewelry. I'll post pics of what I've got started. Tomorrow, right now it's late. good night

What a little trooper! Gosh, I am so proud of you and I am so proud of Sky. You know, it's a real honor "knowing" you two. Thank you so much for opening up your world to us; nothing makes a life more worthwhile than having people (furry and only just a little bit hairy) to love, look after and care about

Thats wonderful news and good job on all the effort you are putting in:)
If you use Carmex lip salve on his nose it will help, this stuff is amazing on cuts, sores and burns for some reason and safe:)

www.youcaring.com/sky-is-one-of-my-rescue-cats-i-am-annasue-marczynski-362270Hope that works! I seem to be learning a lot about what link goes to what, or not, these days! Vet check went well, basically. He looks a bit better, interested in his surroundings and getting around more. The feeding tube is working well, where it is inserted staying good. His nose is better, but breathing still seems labored. The big problem is his not eating. Vet will not change her "optimistic 50/50" until he is eating. That is the goal, eating on his own.
