I can't put the collar on him, he freaks out and I mean freaks and with his heart I'm worried so yes I left it off so yes this morning I can see he is getting red at his stitches site so I guess I'll have to go get antibiotics for him, start before it becomes another visit, really the vet should have sent me wih skme as he has been opd on like a female, the vet I like there is more or less retired, I know he is on the new guys case constantly about missing stuff, I should have been on my toes yesterday and asked for antibiotics, I didn't even get any painkillers from them which I'm surprised about, out again today and I don't really feel like it, kennels is busying up too for the weekend typical:(

Call ahead for the antibiotics and pain pills so you aren't sitting around waiting for them. Hopefully it will just be a quick trip.

So they won't give me anything, said if he gets an infection to call, well it's the weekend coming and you can gurantee it'll be when they are closed, no way am I going to the emergency clinic at what they charge!
Anyway I got some bitter spray that you can spray on wounds, see if that stops him, I have persisted with the cone and he's actually stopped freaking out, he's not happy but he's not being stupid and throwing himself against the walls anymore, hopefully I got him calmed down in time before he caused any damage:)

Do you have any vetricyn? Perhaps you can be proactive and give it a spray with that? LOL...what am I saying? Spray a cat on it's belly/backend with Vetricyn? Sorry, I must have lost my mind for a moment.

Sorry, I must have lost my mind for a moment. I have some by kennels, I'll bring it up today, h must be real itchy as he keeps trying to lick it but can't which is good, I used vetericyn on the female a while back but it didn't help although I think it was too late, he's real sucky right now and hasn't left my side which is good, hopefully once the testosterone goes he will be like this more:)

He seems to be healing OK but I'm not happy with him, he scared the shit out of my birds this morning, I think you can't have cats and birds, I don't know how some people do it, I'm never off his case but I turned my back for 5 mins and he was hanging off the cage, birds scattered, not good for their little hearts:(
The scatt spray works good but I need 3 of them to cover all angles and they are not cheap and every time anyone walks by they go off and refills aren't cheap either, I think I need a separate bird room but like them in the kitchen as they are nice to hear and seem sigh, I need to find a solution to keep everyine safe and happy.

Morris is awful with finches. He lives to jump up, and hang on the cage. I tried squirt bottles, but Morris doesn't care about getting wet.
The cats hate the vacuum, so I set the vacuum, beside the bird cage, and plugged it into a Christmas light, remote control. When ever Morris gets near the birds, I push the remote button, and the vacuum roars to life. EEEEK. It isn't fool proof, but he is getting better about leaving them alone.
For awhile he was getting on top of Abby's cage. She is a Rose Breasted Cockatoo. Abby offered to de-claw him, bird style. He decided he didn't really like the procedure, and hasn't gotten up there again.

The problem is,,,, With a dog, you say NO!!!, and they say,,,,, "oh no, shame on me, I have displeased the master."
When you say NO!!!!!!! to a cat, they say,,,,, "I wonder why she is yelling at the dog?"
Sheeeeesh!!!!!
Cat's are almost as self centered as stupid husbands. Almost.

I ended up just using vetericyn and some herbal antibiotics I had, its looking pretty good now, one tiny 1/4 inch part thats taking a little longer to heal but Im not worried about it.
Ive been spraying him every time he looks at the birds and he hasnt bothered them as in jumped on their cage since that last incident, I used to let him watch from a distance but I think that was a bad idea.

Glad to hear he is doing better and starting to behave himself a little better! Kitten can be so delightful, but such a pain.

Ive discovered he leaves the birds alone but still watches if I have a light on where they are, if I just have the kitchen light on which is enough light for the whole room he will jump up and try to hang off the cage but if I have the light on above the kitchen table right where the birds are next to he doesnt do it, weird!
Im very pissed at the insurance company, I called to ask them if I had tests done to see what causes his murmur if it was covered, they said yes, so got $750 of tests done and guess what got letter from insurance company saying oh sorry its not, Im gone a few days, when I get back I will go to vet see if I can fight it, regradless I will be cancelling this policy and naming and shaming, I use a different company for my dogs and have never ever had issues, heck they payout every month for canagan.
But Rambo is doing real good, thanks:)

So, when I was at vet yesterday I got copies of Rambos visit info, his murmour was not detected until August but his first visit in May 21st when I found him nothing was mentioned about a murmour in his file, I took the pet insurance out the same day, I called Petplan and she said no thats wrong, but after a few mins she saw that I was right, its just the vets confused matters by writing on same sheet as first visit instead of starting new one. Anyway she said she would put claim in system again but after talking to vet he said they fight like hell with things like that and he doesnt fancy my chances, if they dont pay me anything then I will cancel and move to Canagan and Tinkers company, I can highly receommend them, TRUPANION

I'm sorry you are having such problems with insurance. I have absolutely no experience there. With 5 horses, 2 dogs and 15 cats, I don't think I could afford it! One would think that your vet having experience with the insurance being so difficult, they would be more careful with paperwork. Not giving the insurance an excuse to be such a pain.

So I got a cheque from Petplan today, for the full amount less my deductible, glad I complained!
