I can only imagine how Belle is going to feel, when she steps off that trailer and realizes she is home. It would be fun to have a camera in the trailer, because I imagine she will recognize the smells, and the sounds of home even before you actually get in the driveway. I am really looking forward to the pictures.

I can't imagine how stressful this is for you especially being so far away! One more week!

What an awesome girl. She looks relaxed and curious even though she is among strangers. She is going to be a great horse. I am on the edge of my seat just waiting for her to get home.

I've really got to wonder just how old that set of pics was. She isn't looking butt high and her hind legs aren't way under. It will be interesting to see how she stands and moves once we get those feet fixed up. But, really, she either had a sudden growth spurt, or those pics are OLD. I got a message from Heather, that Belle is there and settling in well. She did say that Belle is acting like a yearling, testing boundaries! I plan on being just as firm as necessary, but I wonder how much may be due to having been moved around so much in her short life. So much to learn, it's going to be interesting!

She's pretty, yes those toes are long, isn't it amazing how so many people don't think good care is all that necessary, first thing I was taught is 'no hoof, no horse'
It must be a huge relief to know she is safe now and on her way back, early Christmas present:)

Early Christmas present, I like that! A friend has offered to make the road trip with me. I am relieved in that I really wasn't looking forward to being on the road that long alone. AND that gives me a camera person!

Getting everything cleaned up, will be taking the truck in for a quick once over and check both sets of tires. Tomorrow is five days. Down to counting the fingers of one hand! I feel like a little kid!

btw- any suggestions for food & snacks? I know it's not that long of a trip, but long enough to get hungry/thirsty. Drinks are easy enough, water, soda and tea. Food needs to be easy and not spoil easily. I want to take good care of my copilot, show her appreciation for making the trip with me!

Sandwiches and potato chips always works for me!
Even some cold chubby chicken, if you're not on a diet!

Cookies!!!! And donuts and all the great things you won't normally eat at home. Calories don't count on road trips....right?

I got some healthy stuff, but all those bags of Halloween candy broke me down. Those damn things are relentless!
Good news and bad. Due to oncoming weather, on the route, they are leaving early, Fri eve. That should get them to Tulsa Sat eve. I was looking forward to a fun day trip, now half of it will be after dark. Which also ruins a lot of the pic and video chances. I hate driving in the dark, even worse a trip in unfamiliar territory.

Don't despair about pictures..... They won't be unloading in a dark & desolate place I bet.....there will be lights. Make sure you have the camera set to night time settings and ENJOY the beginnings of a great reunion!

It's the driving in the dark that really gets me the most. As I've aged it's harder and oncoming headlights seem brighter. It wouldn't be so bad if it was an area I'm used to. At least traffic should be light.
