my appy started coloring the spring of her 3 rd. year. boy howdy, mom, and dad look to have some good breeding, and Belle had quite a fanny as a young lady!! i cant wait!! That pic of her drinking, she's about 5 months old there. She's gonna be a little tank! I also had an App. that colored late. I was surprised at getting regular papers the first time out. She had sclera, a couple of stripes on a hoof and I had to practically get under her yo get the pic of her tiny bit of mottling. As she grew up she did get more mottling but it was either her second or third spring that a couple of spots showed up on her back. A few years later she looked like she had stood out in a storm. I have pictures (the old kind w/ negatives) that I need to put on a CD for safe keeping and sharing.

Tomorrow will be 21 days or 3 weeks. Yesterday am I called the clinic, that the vet that did Belle's Coggins, Health Certificate and a 6 way vacc.is from, to pay the bill, $190.36. I talked to two really nice ladies, we chatted a bit. Today I get an email from one of those ladies saying I will get a call Monday to see about "rewriting the chart" to give the Health Certificate a few extra days. I had mentioned that I was concerned about the certificate being on it's last day when the transport happens. I can't believe that someone remembered and is trying to help out. Okay, my eyes just filled with tears, I think I'd better go to bed!

17 days and counting! I just wish I could get a picture, I've asked a couple of times. The last pic was about 2 weeks ago. I need to figure out how to get a pic out of a facabook message. Probably need to get a mouse, touchpads do have their limitations.

I've noticed, in the pics, that it seems like her hind legs are way under her. The trotting pic looks like she moves well enough. So very many things I need to got caught up with on her.

She is also butt high to the sky and may be standing at that angle to eat easier or just standing like that for no reason...
You will have plenty of time to figure it all out in a few days from now...
She is beautiful...and what extension she looks to have when trotting around.... ground covering striding!
She is going to be BIG....her "measurement bone"....just look at that...whew!!!

Sire and dam are pretty level, so it may be a yearling thing. She's 18 months, 3 days old now. Sire 14.1, dam 13.3- I've been very interested in that. 14 hands at 18 months? The pic in the stall, looks to me like she's developed mottling on that cute nose of hers. She could very well color out. Just wish I could get pictures. I don't really understand why I don't get pics. Even this tech challenged person can do pics. It does make me sad. But it will be over soon and I an take all the pics my little heart desires. Besides that I will be able to see her, up close and personal.

Her back legs come under her because they're so long they have nowhere else to go! If she's not taller than her parents I'll be surprised. Her face is adorable!
Maybe that's not even the sire. They sound pretty irresponsible. If they had another stud around anything could happen. I think I've told the story on the other place about a quarter horse breeder telling me about two foals they had. They were both born in the night so they weren't sure who's foal was whose as the dams were kind of sharing them. They sent off DNA to be sure and found out that one wasn't even from the stud she was supposed to be sired by. Her sire was their retired stud that lived in the next field with an alleyway between.

They actually caught him in the act and I don't remember there being any other horses around. But, I know, that's kinda a done deal and I would have no way to know. I like the idea of him being daddy because I love his conformation. The only thing that matters is she looks pretty darn good, hoping that a thing or two is a growth stage. This all is what is making me wish I could get pics, but she will be here soon enough!

I had already been told that Belle would be taken to the lady who is transporting next week. That seems to have been changed. The lady keeping Belle has a lot going on next week so, they got it all figured out, I guess and made these plans. Also these ladies live some distance apart. It seems that Belle was taken to Begin Again rescue to spend the night and then the lady who found the transport, will pick her up there and deliver her to Heather to stay for the week before transport to Oklahoma. Lots of final arranging happening to get this finished. I'm sure glad everybody there knows each other and can make these plans!
