That's a cute picture of the Zipper checking things out. Do I see mats in there? Our sheds are on dirt floors but then we live in a sandy outwash plain thanks to the glaciers 12,000 years ago See, being covered in ice has it advantages... eventually I've seen larger "loafing" sheds for cattle with openings on the top like that, but then a lot of cattle make a lot of heat when they cram in there. Our shed is vented too but not so large, I guess because we just are never that humid. You mentioned treating the lumber for salt. What kind of salt? You seem far enough from the ocean

You seem far enough from the ocean Yeah I would have been UPSET with Zippy if he never used that damn shed after I bought it and rebuilt it It was a covered hay feeder, now turned small run in shed. I wanted it for shade in summer, and wind/rain/ break in winter. It has a wooden floor, much like a horse trailer so the mats tend to lessened the sound, and hopefully to make it seem more like something he would be used to. I figure if/ when those boards become not useable, I'll cut the floor out and fill with sand. But its quite solid for now.
I got a pretty good deal on it, with the plan to convert it to a run in, ie. 'work in progress'. The boards are 'salt, or pressure treated' so I can't paint or stain them for a few months,.., PROJECT for next spring. LOL, Just happy to see him understanding its function, and hanging out inside. smileys-party-370729

Oh THAT'S what you mean about salt treated, the salt created by an acid x base. Ah ha. Thanks

YAY for you and Zippy! Just curious, which way is the opening facing? I would assume south so you could have the walls break that northern wind.

Thanks,.., It does face south,., and I asked my painter friend to give me a price to paint the roof green. Hes a professional painter, it will look wayy better if its done by a professional. I can paint the pressure treat, but the roof might be too tricky.

UPDATE,.., Got some pictures from the girl who bought the hay feeder 'hardware' that I removed to make the run in shed. She was building her own covered hay feeder, LOL. I thought her new hay feeder turned out great too She plans to build a roof, just considering her options as to materials, etc also. Way for both of us to 'repurpose' the parts !!
