Phew,.., its here,.., the delivery made me nervous, altho it went mostly smoothly. I had trimmed branches, etc back yesterday, not wanting anything to hinder getting it here. The guy set it up adjacent to my other fence post, and I've got my friend coming on Sunday to do a materials list, shouldn't take much to convert it. A few 'flaws', hardly noticeable, and its not brand new, I keep reminding myself. So here it is,., I'm thinking salt treat boards on 3 sides, and then, close to the top, vented with 'spaced' boards between the new sides and the top for air flow.LOL, already had Zippy walk in on one side, so he fits, and once we open up the long side, he will have a nice shade spot,.., Especially with some space between the boards for vision and for breeze. He was already enjoying the shade it provided today Here are a few pics,..,

You can see that the back posts line with my fence post so I plan to use them as fence posts also. This way, I can finish (in due time) fencing off my back pasture, separate from my other pasture. I have enough T-posts, and sleeves to section off this back pasture, and that way I can rotate, or maybe if there is another horse in my future,., or a boarder, etc, I have extra space with shelter. I like it! PROJECT!

I love it!!! It looks bigger than it looked in the sale picture you showed us before. I can't wait to see how it looks once you've remodeled it. Should make for a wonderful run-in!

A horsie gazebo, how very, very nice! I'd love to have something like that for the pasture right behind our house, but Gerald insists that whether it be horses or cattle they can lounge in the shade of the farming equipment parked up on the north edge of the pasture... ish ruins the view but he gets pretty pissy when I complain about it. God for fend we should put all of the equipment near the garage! Oh No, then his son's family "would have to look at it", oh that's not okay but its okay that I gotta look at it?
Okay, sorry, I just went off like that....
I think that's a really nice gazebo, too nice to call it a shed.

Red that is a beauty and a cuppola would just set it off as a match with the barn and feeding the horse inside and allowing some sun and rain break is a plus . now if it were me i would move all that stuff out of my view and behind a privacy fence. and let dh just fume that the stuff was moved. lol

Nice!! I'm sure Zip will love it... He already loved the shade of it today. I've really hated that he had no shade to relax in,.., now he does!! Its going to look nice when I get finished, hopefully,.., and I do think I got a good deal, price wise.

I recently read a study that concluded that while beef cattle were more comfortable with shade they didn't produce more. So I gotta figure that there are plenty of ranchers who could provide shade but don't, an expense that they don't need. Its too bad that folks only consider livestock as money makers. I thank God every day that Gerald isn't like that at all.

How's the remodeling coming along?
Thanks Terry I picked up the lumber about a week ago and just need to call my friend to come put it together. It got hot and buggy, so I was waiting for it to cool down again also. Zippy has certainly used it for shade, just as it sits, as a hay feeder. I figure after this Labor Day weekend, things will quiet down, and my friend will have more time, etc. I want to find some 'rustic y' looking things, old signs, barn star, wagon wheels, or something, to give it some 'character'.
Any ideas?

I know what you mean about it getting hot and buggy! The weather here has been miserable too. It's nice that Zippy has it for shade. I'm sure he's really appreciating that right now in this heat.
As far as rustic ideas to dress it up, I like all the ideas you already mentioned.

It's great, I really like it! I don't think I've seen anything like that around here. Typically there are just three sided sheds with the main side to the north so the worst of the cold winter winds that come from the north are blocked.

I think its going to be totally 'functional' when I get it finished I like the roof because it gives shade on both sides on what will be, my 'finished' fence line. I'm thinking of staining it the same brown color that I stained my stalls with. Hang some 'rustic y' wagon wheels, or signs, or a star,., and I think it will be 'cute-functional'

YAY!! My friend is coming this week to finish my new 'run in' Will post pics when its done. Meanwhile,.., i'm thinking of advertising the used 'grill work' for sale. Any thoughts on prices for the 2 sections of 3-1/2 ft x10 ft grill work, and the 2 - 4x6 gates on either end?? $25-$35 per section?? Somebody can buy it and make themselves a hay feeder with some salt treat boards,.., Thanks!

Not sure about the grill work but I wonder if you could advertise the gates as stall or fence gates?
