This is the most crazy, naughtiest, wildest, more temperament mare with whom I have ever had the opportunity to work. She was born in my stall , and from the beginning it was obvious that she will be a handfull. I do not know how to describe her personality-->proud and wild, that's the word. Doing everything on her own, do not listen and do not want to learn. But I love her, I really do. The last time I said I won't ride her ever again, it was when she rared and fall on her back with me on her. But I rode her again, I just did not want to accept that she is so wild. You have to know that my dad and I have raised over 10 horses, and we have never had such a horse. She is just so stubborn, but her mom was very much alike, just she was to old to show it. She is so crazy, that if she does not want to do something she will just lie down on the ground, no regardless if she is being riden or harnessed. When I wan't to put a bridle on her , she will turn her head to the other side, or just lift her head so high I can't reach. She is 4 and a pureblood Lipizzan, but I have never had a 4-year old like her. I guess I accepted that she has her personality and I respect that. She is beautiful and young. perhaps with time she will mellow out and be what you would want 100percent. for now you will have to deal with her moods. seems she is not a happy horse for some reason. and you are always trying to stay ahead of her mentally so neither of you get into trouble. i think it is her back giving her trouble. opps sorry not a vet and no expert just my opinion. 757724

Horselady, vet check her, she is healthy as she can be. We have worked with her from the little, she knows all the stuff a riding and harness horse should know, but she just has a mind of her own. One day she will listen and go , be fine, and one day she would not give me even to mount on her. She is really soft on the mouth, as you can see I ride her on simple snaffle bit, and I can ride her without a bit. But i have to had martingale because I don't know when she will decide to rare. Sometimes a truck can pass bay she wont even blink, but sometimes just a little sound trigers her. If someone knows any advice, be free to share. Please. I accept any criticism and any advice. She also lives in a heard, she is normaly socialized, she loves people , children. I really don't know where is her problem.

I feel that there is a bit of a back problem. not to say that you nor your vets are incorrect, perhaps she needs some rounding off. meaning instead of her head being so upright and her back hollow she needs to collect and round off her back. do you feel her kinda collapse down when you are on her?
perhaps work her over some ground poles with full bridle and saddle and perhaps a standing martingale instead of the one you are using. that means a nose band also. and instead of the bit you are using which is an O ring use a d snaffle instead. the parts of the bit on the outside look like the letter "D".
i also had a horse that would rear and throw itself over backwards, or try to sit down. we figured out with my vet that his spine was compressing into his spinal cord and pinching him , thus causing pain.
you and your family do remarkable breeding and training i find that is amazing, your culture and ideas go back thousands of years, and that mysterious and beautiful at the same time.
she is beautiful, and too bad she is in croatia. or i would horsenap her lol

Oh goodness, she sounds like a handful! Have you had her hormone levels checked? Perhaps they are high and you could give her something to mellow the hormones out?
Sorry, just trying to think what could be off.

ngh- I own 3 more mares, non are like her horselady- thank you for your advices about bit and martingale , i will work her on a launge to collect her. I think also she needs more ground work, just I don't have time to do it. Maybe her teeth are starting to change so that could be part of a problem. Mistersmom- i really would not like to mess with her hormons, I don't belive in that stuff, but thank you for proposition

I don't know a thing about diagnosing a back problem, but it could very well be that she is in the "I'm still the boss" stage. All I really care about is that you are safe riding her, but falling on her back doesn't sound safe to me. You be extra special careful, okay? Now that we've gotten to know you we want you around for a very long time!

She was driving the other day with her stall friend( the mare with the tumor on the nose) and was really good for a while, but still keeping her head up high(as you can see on the pic), listening to everything, changing her ears position a lot... i was trying to keep her relaxed, reins were loose, I was talking all the time with melow voice, and we manage to make it home alive. :-) proud of her :-) photo hosting sites

Coming home in one piece is always a good thing. perhaps she is just a type of lead mare that has to see and hear everything and time will teach her to just relax, meanwhile work on the lunge her frame and perhaps over ground pole so she learns to look down and pick up her feet and round off her back. she is stunning. 884530

I did not talk about this naughty for a while. Well to bad I have to mention her when she does something wrong. Today we decided to take her for a drive, just in our "back yard", where is a big open field, you know just for a walk with her foal running beside her. We did all slow, harness her, peted her, giving her treats. And now we were ready to go, and my dad sat on a buggy and I was beside her just to help her move if she would feel uncertain about going. And my dad then peacefully said to her "ajmo", witch means walk and instead starting normally slowly, as any normal horse, she first knocked me to the floor and then hit a post of our horse shelter and knocked that to the ground also. I mean, what a hell is wrong with that mare. One day she is like an angel, other day she will be a devils horse. But she did not won, we did ride, oh yes, she was driving like a pro!! -.-

I love the way you talk about this mare, but where are the pictures of your high spirited darling displaying her recent naughtiness. You were probably to busy keeping you and your father save, to take pictures this time, but any picture of her would be good. She is such a beauty.

I will take a picture of her tomorow, she is bay at summers, so it is interesting to see her color changing when weather becomes colder. She is very naughty at times, but I love her to death, like all my horses. We are not one of those people who will sell a horse just because horse is not all perfect for them, she has her personality for sure
