I'm kinda tempted to post her pics in the other place to see what the Googler says...I bet she'd say something about how none of these, except maybe the one month old pic, are very good conformation shots and I should be asking for squared up pics from each side, front and back. LOL

Honestly any horse can do dressage, I had an appy and we were always in club teams and we always placed first or second, I even went on to BHS eventing with him again placed high in the dressage but he was not a x country horse

Have you ever rode a clyde?
Not for me, but to each their own!

I rode a Clyde in lessons way back when I was about 11 or 12 years old. His name was Gryphon He was the biggest sweet heart. I just love them to death. Plus, hubby is 6'2 and about 280lbs, so would be a good horse for him as well Haha I'm just picturing going to a dressage show around here with a Clydesdale - imagine the looks I'd get! Obviously wouldn't be aiming for high levels with a Clyde, but it could be fun to do the lower levels with one!

Why bandages on such young horse? And it is not smart to put bandages when they can get wet( ), because then they become more tight. I love big horses, so that Clyde is beautiful to me

Not sure about the bandages...the ground is frozen so maybe just added protection while they work with her. The out here is really dry and doesn't really soak in - you can see on the front of the bandages a bit of that is stuck to the bandage, it will just brush off, not sink in. It's so much better than the really wet we had back home in Ontario!

Yay, Dixie! "My" little half arab went to her first show over the weekend - Western Canadian Breeders - and won Reserve in half arab yearling fillies! Not too shabby for her first show! Her owner knows I'm interested, so it's just a matter of finding a job and saving some money for her. In the meantime, I'm still dreaming about her! Pics from the show:

She's beautiful!
I actually like the "natural" picture of her with the ring of flowers on her neck better, she is beautiful in both though.
I know show standards & requirements are different for class judging,...
How big is she expected to finish growing at?

I'd scoop her up now if you are serious about getting her. The more they show her and she wins classes, the more they are going to increase the price.

I'd scoop her up now if I had any money, but I'm broke They think she'll hit 15+hands. Her dam is 14.3. Sire, can't find a size for, but think he's a bit taller. Grandsire on dad's side was 15.3. I don't think the breeders are big show people so probably won't hit any more shows this year, so hopefully showing won't affect price too much. Hoping if I wait, the price will come down. They've already dropped the price of their purebred yearling from $5000 to $3200, so I would think the price of the half arab would drop if I wait. Though I know I'd be paying extra for her colour... LD, thanks for the job offer! But it would interfer with my EI and they'd start docking me that. Need to find a full time gig. EI runs out in January, so still got 6 months to find something! Not panicking yet!

Wow. She's stunning! Re. The rescue you were talking about. I appreciate what they're trying to do but too often they rescue very crooked horses that will never be adoptable. They also like to rescue firmer broodmares who have had very little handling and need a ton of work which they don't do. The horses are just warehoused.

Over the weekend she was named Region 17 Champion 1/2 Arab Yearling Sporthorse filly. And nhg, I agree about the rescue. They get some horses that will just never be adopted, and the ones who would have a good chance at adoption are held back because they aren't worked with enough.
