Another GREAT lesson  Zippy is really figuring out how to use his body parts,.., He MIGHT get ridden in a clinic this weekend by the trainer,.., I'm willing, altho its pricey. But the exercise would be fantastic for him, plus she soooooo 'gets' Zippy, and he tries hard for her  It would benefit him, to be ridden by her, and I could watch,.., not sure yet tho? |

Sounds like a win-win all around. I would definitely let her do it (if you can afford to). And I'm sure you will learn a ton just watching.

Well, she asked me today, altho she may have another horse lined up.
She really enjoys riding him, AND, he is getting A LOT out of her handling and her riding.
Its actually a bit more than I'd like to spend, but I would LOVE to video him and watch him get worked
by 2 professionals.
The wine tasting benefit was held to help lower the costs of this particular clinician,..,
so that should lower my costs a bit,..,
She will let me know when the other girl gets back to her about her horse ^^
It would be great for Zippy,.., and me apple

I love your instructor. as she says you are also a" trainer not just a rider" as you take your lessons you are learning what makes your horse tick and she is helping you do that with every minute she spends with you. also see if you can have a lesson every now and again on a lesson horse that does not need so much of your attention so you can hone your skills more and a lesson horse will allow you to do that. keep on riding and smiling and sharing.  |

Ask hubby as an early Christmas present! Just an idea. We'd love to see a video of Zippy working. LOL, already told him I needed some extra $$ this weekend (just in case  ). Haven't heard back from my instructor yet tho? |

She's really good HL,., just what Zippy and I needed at this point. I have used a lesson horse at the Patrick King clinics, with this trainer^, I want to focus on Zip's and my relationship. And thank goodness, we're finally starting to have a real relationship. He's definitely improving, and I'm definitely improving with him, this summer. Yay!! Feels good to say that apple |

Me too Terry,.., I sent her a PM and am waiting to hear back. It gives me an idea for future clinics tho,.., maybe have him ridden by her in some of those |

Absolutely! If this one doesn't work out, try, try again! It would be great experience for Zippy, and I think it would be fun for you to watch, too! Besides, if you are anything like me, it's sometimes hard to "feel" what you should be doing in the saddle, but sometimes it's easier when you can see someone else doing it first. |

I know if working on something new and I see it demonstrated it is easier for me to copy that picture.
Faster then to "get it"...
Enjoy the clinic and soak in that knowledge.
Apply what you can...
Let your trainer/instructor know next time it is your horses turn....
Maybe at that point in time it will be both you and Zip do a session and the trainer also do one... hers first then you ride later or the next day so that new information can be re-applied....
Working on Zip is good.
Working on you and Zip is even better!!

Oh well, there will be other clinics. Be sure she knows you would like for her to use Zippy in a future clinic. I hope you are having fun watching the others and learning from them.

AND,..., Another one bites the dust!!!!  Now THIS trainer is moving on, and leaving the state  The clinician that was there this weekend, offered her a position in PA, which is where her BF is currently apprenticing in farrier school. I can certainly understand, but I NEED a trainer of this caliber to help me get Zippy where he needs to be. She is soooooooooo GOOD with him, and loves him, and has HELPED me TREMENDOUSLY. Anywho,., she hasn't left yet, and plans to be around for some time longer, plus trips back to train clients but the situation will be changing AGAIN  Another trainer will be coming to C. Farm, they've been interviewing, but this has been such a great experience for Zippy and I. Can I say,., DISAPPOINTED mini-graphics-smileys-746129 She will ride him in the next clinic, which will be awesome,,., hopefully. |

Oh wow red - just seems trainers don't stick around very long there. I wonder if the barn is giving the trainers such a raw deal that anything is better. It sounds like a higher caliber barn so hopefully they can attract another good trainer.  That's exciting that she will be riding Zippy in the next clinic. Be sure to bring your camera!!! |

Wow! I have to be honest I did not ever realize that there was such a demand for trainers. The fact that the clinician offered her a position speaks volumes to her ability. Hopefully she sticks around a few more weeks and will give lessons on her visits back
