this out 15 yr. old TWH mare Hannah. she is my hubbys main trail horse, and is fearless!! sadly, we got her through a suicide in the family, a 28 year old father that got involved in drugs, he had a 6 month old baby. Hannah will be here for life.

She is gorgeous. Honestly, how do you get your horses so shiny. They absolutely gleam in the sunshine.

Sad circumstance to get such a wonderful mare. and to get them that shiny they need oil and good food to nourish that. i use baby oil and a damp rag to help nature along. 884530

Baby oil. They probably need to be wearing their summer coats though, right? I think my horses are getting well fed. I imagine it takes a lot of grease too. You know as in the elbow grease kind. Brush, brush, brush.....

funny thing ...waaay back on the other place the googler gave me grief about saying we feed a "complete" feed. we feed a pellet based feed, it also has some molasses (taboo) it has minerals, and vitamins in it. what, i am not sure exactly (taboo) it is 12% protein, it is made by the company "Dumor". they both (George, and Hannah) get 1 lb. am, and pm each, they also get crimped oats George gets 1 lb. am, and pm, and Hannah gets 1/2 lb am, and pm. they both get 1 oz."clovite", and George gets 1/2 cup of "calf manna" daily. they get free choice 1st. cutting grass/timothy hay, about 20 lbs. 2x a day. both horses get used almost daily, and George gets used what some people would call "hard" he always has, he will be 20 in may. the shine? no fly spray photo day, but ... we do use an OLD boar bristle, and leather body brush on them daily, and no baths with soap.
