We rode the Backbone again. Found our way to the river. On the way back we took a wrong turn and got lost. We ran into some other riders and they got us headed in the right direction and we made it back.. Took my 3 horses JR, Reno and Rawhide. Here is a link to the album.Excuse some of the shots with a big black ear or ears in some. JR can be a pain at times. mingiz.smugmug.com/Devils-Backbone-92914

I really liked picture #25 with JRs face in it. I also really liked picture #9 and I can only imagine what that same scene will look like in a few weeks, once all those leaves start to change. Are you planning a color ride?
I have to say I am surprised you got lost though. I thought JR had read the map.

Didn't I tell you JR can't read We also don't have a map. It worked out though. I could see how people hiking could get lost out there. The leaves here aren't quite changing yet. Not sure if we will get back over there. But we will try. The end of October we are headed back to Slabtown for the Halloween weekend. Was coming back in the house after evening feeding of ours and neighbors pigs. Got out of the Wench and Molly dogstarted having another seizure. She had one on the 8th and now another.. Poor thing....Wish she would have one when the vets are open. I would throw her in the truck and take her. Jess knows one of the vets from school functions so she is going to talk to her about it. Molly is doing ok now. She is laying next to me on the couch.

Bless her heart. Does your vet have any idea of why she is having seizures? We had a little dog once. She was the puppy from a brother and a sister. Her Mom kept carrying her off and leaving her, then would go back and take care of her other two puppies. We got her when she was 5 weeks old, because the foster parents were afraid the Mamma dog would eventually kill her. When she started having seizures, our vet suggested we only give her a special food. I think it was rabbit, or maybe lamb. The seizures stopped, unless she would get ahold of a piece of the other dogs food.
Poor Grace had a lot of problems, but she lived to be 4 years old. Our vet didn't think she would make it that long.

The last time I talked to the vet. He said it could be caused by low sugar as in diabetic or trauma cause by the horses kicking her. She has been hit twice. Once was n the head. So I'm thinking that is her main issue why she gets them. He told me if they start getting closer together and lasting longer to bring her in. So it may come down to that.
She has learned to stay out of the pasture now. The first time she had one we called the vet and he said give her jelly or honey that it could be a diabetic issue. We did and she came out of it quickly. But I'm thinking it's from the head trauma she had. I'm going to keep an eye on her though..

Poor Molly dog. I hope she is feeling better today.
What a beautiful ride (as usual). Did Tony try out JR?

Molly is doing fine this morning. ;-|No Tony rode Rawhide. I rode JR. My saddle doesn't fit Rawhide and I don't like Lint's tucker. I guess I'm so use to my Eli Miller. It has the A type fork front on it and their saddles make you spread your legs out. That hurts my hips and not comfy to me. Maybe we will try it here at home after we get shoes put on them all.

Seizures and a gorgeous ride; what a combination. But that's life isn't it? I have to admit I feel a twinge of jealousy but actually if you didn't get to ride, I'd never get to see the pictures. Now how about a picture of Molly :-)

Now that's what I'm talkin' about I like how her blue eye is on the dark side of her face and the dark eye is on the lighter side of her face. She's got a designer head

Molly is a good girl most of the time. She loves riding in the Wench. I go through the garage and she jumps up in the seat waiting to roll. I'll have to get a pic of that. She is also a very jealous dog. A good watch dog too. Sometimes to much. She sees the cows across the road and goes off..
