Is there a way to just see new posts, that have been posted since the last time I was here? Like on HT. Thanks!

I use the recent threads link. It's at the bottom of the home page, above the chat box, around where it tells you who is online.
It will list the recent threads and has an indication of which have new posts since you last opened the thread.

Oh, also if you haven't found it is a button on the top of every page on the right "participated" - it will list all the threads (usually) that you have participated in but not the new ones you haven't yet.

Left side margin of the home page shows either a black horse or a "NEW" open file folder on my computer....

NO.........The one missing was of someone sitting drinking a hot beverage and reading a book/paper. Been gone now for a while I guess...never noticed till I wanted it.
