I don't know who is worst the horse or Short.
Tony saw her limping and I was at coffee at the neighbors. So Jess came and got me almost in tears. Something is wrong with Libby.
I got there and she had scratch marks across the lower part of her stifle and her hock was swollen. So we cold hosed her and I scrubbed it with antifungal soap and iodine. The cuts weren't deep. So I gave her some banamine. Then we made a stall with 2 panels in the barns and was going to keep her in a stall for the night. We did and she pitched a fit and was going to cause her self more harm. So I told them let her loose. She wants to be with the herd. They were out of sight. So we let her out and she limped up to them and we had just put out a round bale. We have to pull some off to get it to fit in the bale buddy. So she was eating hay and then she went down. So they went up and looked at her. I could see her from the back porch. I told them she is resting and the banamine probably kicked in. So she was laying down but still upright..
At first Tony thought a bob cat got her. I said no she got hung up in something. A bob cat wouldn't attack a horse especially in a herd. So after we took care of her Tony went down where we know there is old fencing. But saw no marks of a struggle. Then they were up by the pig pen and found were she did it. There is a chunk of concrete probably left over when they had put in the pad for the carport. And they were running earlier. So we figure she went down and hit that chunk of concrete. It had white hair on it and you could see where she went down and slid. So she will be sore for a few days. I will give her bute in the morning
