We got there Friday morning. It drizzled most of the day. When it cleared off enough, Tony and I saddle up and rode a ail that I hadn't been on before. We went along crossing a few dry river beds and ended up at a gravel road. So not knowing which way to go. I spotted a trail going up the hill and had ribbons on it. So we took it. It brought us back out to t he road into the camp ground. So we just went back to camp.
The next morning we saddled up and started out around 10am. We rode the trails that I had ridden before. There isn't any trail marking and the map we had didn't do us much good. But we did ok. Never got lost. We rode up to a place called Roby Lake and then back to camp via the south trail. Which took us by a small waterfall that you could hear but not see well. Crossed there and had to climb some rock p the trail. We got back and we had done about 13 miles. I was getting saddle sore about the last hour of riding. I need to find some riding pants that are easier on my tush!!! Other than that I felt pretty good. Started out stiff and sore hips but took a muscle relaxer and some aleve.
I must say that I'm so proud of JR. He didn't miss a lick and watched where he put his feet. Even stepping over big logs he would stop look and slowly go over them one leg at a time. He came back sound. Was sound this morning but you could tell he was a tad sore getting up in the trailer. We got home unloaded and he walked out into the pasture and looked great. That was after he had a good roll. I think I have my main ride back!!! It seemed funny not having Reno. But I don't think Reno cared if he stayed home. The dogs were happy to see me.
Now that I have my truck fixed I think Tony and I will venture out and check out another camp ground in that area.. We get along well and he helps out a lot. Lint just pisses me off. I told him one time you can just stay home. Seems I do all the work and right before I'm done he's like need help.. I'm the one that gets the trailer ready and packed. I take care of all the horse stuff. He just reaps the rewards. Even parking the trailer. I tell him where is put it so I can get it level from front to back and side to side. And have enough room to get the front of it down low enough to have it level. Then he gets pissed at me. I told him this isn't a efin tractor trailer and you don't park it the same. He has gone with me enough to know better. Then he was telling a guy that we got married and I regret it. I almost want to say YES I DO!!!! But he goes back on the road Tuesday night. YEA!!!!
When we go back in Oct my truck will be hooked up to it and I will be driving it. I have told him I have handles it for the last 8 years alone I can do it again.... Other than his assholeness it was a good weekend...(like that new word?)
Here is the link to the pics.

My, you certainly have some beautiful places to ride! I loved the pictures. I especially liked the one where it looked like Lint was having JR read the map.

At first JR had his nose on it. When we first took it out. Then I grabbed the camera and told Lint to hold it up again. JR is a treat monger. We were having lunch and he was mooching. When I ride him I have to be careful putting my left hand out to far. As he will stop and turn around for a treat. I do give him treats while riding but he started expecting one. He was getting to the point if I moved my hand out to far he stopped and turned his head. So I call that my one treat stop instead of one rein. Reno does it too. I have found another camp ground that I want to go to. I met a few new people and one rides some nice QH's. She also told me she use to have the same LQ I have same year too. I wish we could afford a 4h with bigger LQ. But ours are paid for and we don't need a mortgage on another truck and trailer. Now that my truck is fixed I think Tony and I will be sneaking off. Short and Lint work so we should be able to go play!!! I'm just so glad JR is sound again.

Wow, great place to ride. I'm glad the weather held up. JR looks a lot like the TWH I used to own. Glad you had a great weekend and are home safe. Thirteen miles in one ride is a long way!!

I bought some aleve yesterday as you are always saying you take it after a long ride, I seize up easy and am so riding unfit, hoping it helps, I just rode for 1 1/2 hours and my knees were creaking for the last half!...my inner legs and crotch are aching too, god I need to ride more!

Girl your funny!!! Actually I take it before I ride. I also take a muscle relaxer. I'm also riding unfit. Doubt if I will ever be fit again. But without the 2 you would have to pry me off the horse. On long rides I take it half way through a ride.. Arthritis sucks!!!! I also need a new mattress for the LQ. The one I have has gotten soft. And when Lint is there with me I go down hill. I wake up with a hip ache...If I'm alone it's ok I can hunker in the middle...

He's 15.3 I can't mount up from the ground anymore because of my wore out knees. But I can park him up to a table, fender, tailgate. over logs or in a ditch and he stands there until I get on and tell him to move. He has been a good boy to me..

Love all the pictures! that scenery must have been amazing on horse back! I would be so scared beside the cliff, but I'm just very afraid of heights!

Lol Shelly JR was afraid of it too! I tried to get him to step down on the wide ledge but he didn't want anything to do with it. Now if I had been on Reno he would of done it without hesitation..
