On this day the Earth shook with the hatred of man toward another.... Thousands lost their lives, millions were affected... The world has still not recovered nor has the hatred stopped...........
In a world turned upside down Budweiser made a "commercial" that aired once as a tribute to all no matter where you were from, what religion you were, your color, your nationality.... All joined together......... I give a link to that tribute..............
www.youtube.com/watch?v=p4yfivS8SWs
With simplicity and love the world was shown a kinder face.....
To all who have lost or been touched by this day I offer my arms in support...a hug and a shared tear sliding down my cheek. I was their, that night at Ground Zero....I will never be the same, never forget and never take for granted what we have.....

All of their commercials are amazing but this one really was fabulous and so moving. And they only used it once so they wouldn't profit from it.
I can still remember driving to work and hearing about the first plane and thinking what a horrible accident it was. Once I got there and we all listened to the radio and heard the updates we were all dumbstruck and horrified. It's still unbelievable that it happened. And the world has never and will never be the same.

I am always aware of what is going on around me. and i remember that morning as if it was yesterday. we live about 45 minutes south of albany airport and we always hear planes, especially when in holding patterns, but that morning, when feeding the horses, i heard a huge plane flying low and it was not in a holding pattern. perhaps it was in my mind or i really heard it. than later my friend called and said to turn on the tv. i thought it was a movie. than the second plane hit. then the third coming down in pennsylvania and another in the pentagon building.
i remember when the investigation was being aired they showed one plane route was over the hudson river and that is 8 miles from my farm. so i was not imagining things (perhaps). than the horrible accounting of the deaths and destruction. and the horrible circumstances surrounding it all.
bless the families of those that passed and the families that helped recover . They are blessed

Thank you for the link Lip. I have yet to see it clearly, because of the tears. We forget so many days, but that is one day, we all remember. I think each one of us can remember exactly where we were, and what we were doing, when the unimaginable, became a reality to us. I will light a candle too. I will also stand in support of those who are fighting to end the terrorist threat from continuing the cost innocent lives.

I think that horrible tragedy brought to many a feeling of patriotism that we had not known. I am to young to really remember much about Vietnam, not that our boys were treated well when they returned home I remember reading about....
This carnage is the first time something like this took place in the continental states...
To me, it brought home a sense of vulnerability I never felt before now that we knew our enemy. It actually brings me peace when I go through security check-points, and have to produce identification....my life is precious to me as are the lives of family and friends... I have no problem being "inconvenienced" to stay safe.
I bow my head with respect at our military, police, fire fighters and first responders who repeatedly place themselves in danger to protect us from unknown evils...
Although all saw coverage on TV... I can tell you to walk, to step out of a vehicle bringing in medical help and walking united toward that area and realizing there would not be thousands of terrible injuries....but that you were walking on hallowed ground and literally among those perished does something to you. I have never forgotten and sometimes still wake in a sweat with memories. Certain smells trigger instant recall, certain things that touch my skin have instant recall....the sounds of silence in a city of millions, the size of Manhattan... only the voices of the firefighters and rescuers working frantically to save all they could...and the solemn, reverent and dignified way of removing those that were lost... Indelible memories.........
Then a most beautiful tribute to all who were lost, all who were injured, all who were saved..all who escaped by the famous horses who bent their heads together and on bent knee.......
...yes, I cry for so many innocent lives lost.. I expect I will continue to shed tears for as many years as I am granted my memories....
Thank-you Lip for lighting a candle for those lost...it means much that you so far away would care so much for complete strangers lost...

It was terrible!!! My mom had a major stroke the day before. She was in DC at George Washington Hospital Center. We had a hell of a time trying to get into the city to get there. We only knew one way in and it was near the capitol. I was at work on the Navy base when they hit the towers. All where watching the TV and not a word was spoken. Everyone was totally stunned watching the tragedy. I hope this country doesn't go through that again. But the way things are going. won't be surprised it something does. I'm kind of glad that I moved away from the DC area. (60miles) Because one of the main air bases is where I worked and the other is in Norfolk areas. Plus DC would be a main target.. Why is it the world leaders can't stop one main group of terrorists?
Our country needs to start taking care of their own. And depend on our own resources. jmo

AMEN....
Amen Jo...Amen.
Such a fitting song for today and always.....
Let there be peace on earth And let it begin with me. Let there be peace on earth The peace that was meant to be. With God as our Father Brothers all are we. Let me walk with my brother In perfect harmony.
Let peace begin with me Let this be the moment now. With every step I take Let this be my solemn vow. To take each moment And live each moment With peace eternally. Let there be peace on earth, And let it begin with me.
To take each moment And live each moment In peace eternally. Let there be peace on earth And let it begin with me.

We sing this song in Church almost weekly - it is usually our closing hymn. it gives me goose bumps each time I sing it.
