Now that chilly weather is all most upon us i would like to share this easy soup or stew., depends on how think you like it.
brown ground beef i use about 2 pounds
remove from pot, add chopped onion, garlic. parsley, basil, and any other veggie you have handy., than put the beef back in the pot. add tomato sauce. or ketchup or anything red. beef stock if you have it. and let it cook on low for about a 1/2 hour or longer. i also add maple syrup. and some butter. and the secret ingredient is chocolate sauce. about 1/4 cup .... now do not tell anyone about that .
for a stew of course do not add too much liquid. but for a soup just use your judgment.
put any leftover veggies. rice. potatoes. carrots. and you are good to go. oh and serve with crusty bread or corn bread.

Chocolate sauce! What! Oh, I have to try that.
For my hamburger soup I use beef stock and V-8 juice as a base and some tomato paste for flavour. Plus Worchestershire, onions, garlic, bay leaves, celery, carrots, barley, etc.
