A breed that originated in East Prussia, the Trakehner is a light warmblood that gets its name from the town of Trakehnen where it was first developed.
Physical Attributes
Trakehner horse breed has an average height of 17 hands, which is far taller than the average for all Horse Breeds. The average weight of a Trakehner horse is 1,200 pounds, which is roughly the average for all Horse Breeds The Trakehner horse breed has been seen with a Bay, Black, Chesnut, Gray and Roan colored coat. The Trakehner is a Warmblooded horse breed.
The Trakehner is one of many breeds that saw a drastic decrease in its population during World War II. Efforts to preserve this breed were undertaken by Dr. Fritz Schilke, who was the director of the East Prussian Stud Book Society.

They look much more refined in the newer pictures. Another beautiful horse breed (but are there really any that aren't beautiful?).
