And the camera isn't too good either I think there is a plot to have you buy more thread colors because the dog required something like 7 colors! I embroidered this dish towel for my mom. Not like she needs a dish towel but, what the hey. Then I thought this one was kinda cute.

Looks pretty good to me. applauseOf course I do it by hand. I have a few pieces like pillow cases. I rather do cross stitch. But haven't done any lately.

Great job! I've never tried embroidery, but have done some cross stitch, but like mingiz, haven't done any lately. I should dig out the tiger I'm working on and finish it!

I too have done hand embroidery, I keep my thread and needles in a tin I got from my grandmother, so its very precious to me. This machine stuff is of a very shiny, thin thread, not at all the feel of the hand stuff. But I have always wanted to really embroider up sheets and towels and I just don't spend the time in the winter to do it. I'm usually baking bread or something else and the idea of doing little bit by little bit for days on end was daunting, not relaxing. Too much in my life is slow over time, I want satisfaction! LOL
The machine also does regular sewing and has more decorative stitches than the zig zag of my old machine. I have my mom's machine, a 1960's Singer which has disks for the different stitches, which was quite the thing at the time. That one is in its table, heavier than heck, in our bedroom at home. I lent out my old machine, don't think anyone is using it though. People think its such a good idea to sew, but they don't.
Anyway, this machine also does quilting! I've only tied quilts, so this is something I can do by myself without a frame or other people. So I'm looking forward to that too.

Very nice! Thanks for sharing. I seem to go through phases with my craft projects. I will quilt for a month or two, get tired of it and move to cross-stitch for a month or two, get tired of it and move to knitting.....well you get the point! So many unfinished projects. Maybe this winter I will try to get them done. ( )

Looks lovely, I'm awful with things like that, had tons of unfinished stuff when I was younger, I saw a beautiful quilt on facebook, I think it was Amish one, it was like $1000 plus, WOW!

Try this spelling and explanation for what it is..... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crewel_embroidery
Sometimes...I do feel it is cruel though when made to sit and do needle-work I don't wish to be doing at the moment...
