Seems like yesterday that we had to make the decision to put down my arabian stallion. Shar Casure Sham, better know as Bombay. forum.horsetopia.com/horse-stories/136664-grieving-loss.htmlhere is the story from the other place . makes me cry when i read it. but my heart is full knowing i gave him the best home and love any horse could ever ask for. he was a smartie. knew how to bow on command. and i taught him to yawn on command. to roll, play fetch with a stick. and he used to brush my hair when i was brushing his mane. and i miss him saying good morning to me as i walked out the door in the am for feeding. Running free on the rainbow that hovers in the sky.

He sounds like he was an amazing horse. Sometimes it doesn't seem like time makes things any easier, especially for those extra special ones.

Bombay was not just a horse, he was your friend...
....memories are sweet, so is the pain when you lose one such as this...

Aw, I'm so sorry. They take a piece of our hearts when they're gone, don't they.

Again, I'm very sorry, I suppose its like a hole in your heart, good thing our hearts get bigger and more resilient the more we love. Your momma loves you Bombay (love that name!)

I still miss brannigan, I bought him as a foal, broke him myself, he died while I was gone, it pains me no end to know I wasn't there for him.

It is so hard when we lose a special horse. The pain lessens, but it never seems to go away completely. In September it will be 6 years since I lost Roxy; I still miss her, and occasionally there are still days when a memory will just hit me and make me start crying all over again.

In 5 days it will be 3 years since I lose my best friend also. It is really hard. There are times when you dont think of it. But when ever I go to the barn and see his empty box I get really upset. I always though that God took him so that another horse could get a chance to be loved by me the same way. But honesty I still cant let my self to be so attached to a horse like i did with him.

It is the fourth year that my stallion is gone. yet he is with me always, his tatoo on my leg and his mane in a bracelet i carry with me always. I miss him saying good morning to me and i miss him bowing when i asked him, and that yawn that he did when i asked him to. is always a wonderful memory.
