They're cute but I guess we shouldn't get too attached huh? What does the pink X mean?

I think that was the way the seller marked them so they knew who to grab when CJ picked them up. No I won't get attached to them. We raised them when I was young and we butchered them at home. The only thing I can't watch is them being killed. The rest doesn't bother me. But it's going to be nice knowing what my pork has in it. Still have a beef to get probably in mid October. That will be a trip back to VA for that one. We have one here for next year butcher. Then we'll hopefully be ready to have one run here with the horses...

I love the names! When I was a teenager my parents got a couple calves to raise for meat. In order for us to remember why we had them we named them Big Mac and Quarter Pounder.

We raised 7 a few years back and we fed them bread and corn plus veggies. NO GARBAGE, the meat was pink and tender and the butcher said those were the best pigs he had seen in years. they were also clean. not in a mud hole to live in. go to the store and ask for animal bread or to an outlet. they sell bread discount by the stack or tray. i paid 1.00 for 12 loaves and with 7 pigs i was getting about 10 trays a week. well worth the effort for clean cheap food for them as the last month i fed milk maker in the water .

I had a pot belly pig stay in the kennels once, I learned where the saying screams like a pig came from fast!...
Hope they are tasty;)

Not sure how they are going to process it. We haven't talked about that yet. It was a trade on a flat bed trailer with Ricky and Gail. They will get it processed. I guess when the time gets closer Gail will let me know. Then we can tell them what we want out of him. Roast, steaks, ribs, burger etc.
