Well shoot - I just had a nice long thread about my vacation to Maine at the end of September and it disappeared. Let's try again.
Went to Maine to visit a friend of mine who lives in a small town near Bangor. I actually lived in Maine about 10 years ago in Orono, while attending the University of Maine. I was only there for a year and although I loved being there, at the time I needed to be closer to my family to help with my young son. I am actually thinking of moving back there in a few years but I will have to see how some personal matters play out before then. The weather was beautiful on my trip and I hope it won't be another 10 years before I go back.
Anyway, on to the pictures!
I got to ride this nice horse while my friend had a lesson on her horse preparing for an upcoming dressage show. Although I rode Sunny in a western saddle, we worked on getting him nice and collected and having smooth transitions. It was fun to ride with my friend. We have known each other for almost 20 years but have never had the opportunity to ride together before this.

Here are two pictures of Bar Harbor where we went one day to go whale watching. The boat on the right is the one we went one. It was a great trip even if it was a little chilly on the boat. We got to see one minke whale and one humpback whale (pictures by my friend) as well as some seals and an assortment of birds. The last picture is of the Penobscot River and a bell tower next to the lighthouse (instead of a fog horn they have this large bell).

day off from school. Being that the Bangor area is somewhat close to the coast, I think that helps with the temperatures and
