Friday evening I went out to a local "you pick" blueberry farm. Last year they only opened for one weekend due to a late freeze that killed 90% of their crop. I did get there that weekend but I was crowded with very few berries and took me almost 2.5 hours to pick a bucket (about 7 pounds). This year was much better. When I went, it was fairly quiet with few people there and the bushes were so FULL of berries it was amazing. I picked just under 7 pounds in less than an hour. It was so nice and relaxing, I could have stayed out there picking for hours. I gave most of the berries to my grandparents but I did keep about 6 cups for some baking and some smoothies for my son. I need to go out on my property, the blackberries are probably getting ripe.

Love blueberry pancakes.... ...yes, I do mean stir... I can and do cook and stir the batter in this case. I can't pick the darn things...I eat to many as I'm picking. wag finger
We have wild blackberry bushes next to our property...nasty thorns...berries are red then darken when ripe so think they are blackberries. Sweet and lots of them...now if we could get rid of the thorns I would be so happy. Wild strawberry plants too...they were sweet but small berries. Wild grapes too... :Pyuck!! Whatever is wrong with them I don't know but are they BITTER!! Now if we could get the wild citrus trees to grow...

I just planted a Blueberry bush. I have like 4 berries on it. Well 2. I ate 2 of them. We don't have any PYO farms here. I'm going to do a strawberry bed for the spring. I'm going to buy a kit that is 3 tiers and has the water hook up and netting. Then order the plants. Love fruit. My peach tree and apple tree are loaded. Not sure what variety they are. Cherry tress were loaded...
