So I ordered some meat from a company in Ottawa, it is supposed to be delivered today(2 day delivery via purolator refrigerated unit)on the sellers website they state 2 day delivery in canada shipping is $40.
its stuck in Montreal due to routing issue, I called purolator who said it wont be delivered till Friday, I don't mind as I don't need it till Friday anyway BUT should I let the seller know as they are saying 2 day delivery and paying for it so are prob due a refund along with me maybe or do you think purolator will automatically inform them?
I havent heard ears from the seller since they gave me a tracking number the day they shipped, it's a big company.

I would definitely call the seller and ask for a refund, or even a partial refund, of your shipping charges. Most places won't refund if the delay is due to something beyond their control (i.e. the weather) but it never hurts to ask. The worst they could do is tell you that they will not refund the money.

Huh, seller didn't seem too worried must happen a lot as he said its ok don't worry the meat is safe for a good 48 hours plus incase this kind of thing happens, so I'm guessing it happens, oh well at least I told them, if it smells or seems warm then at least Ive already logged it!

Good thing you let the seller know the circumstances, but didn't you pay for two day shipping. so wouldn't you be due a small refund. ??

I'm so mad, they delivered it to a store about 10mins away at noon, I picked it up, it was cool but not as cold as it should be, I called purolator as to why it was not delivered to my door, they said the drivers note states inaccessible, which means either roadworks or dirt road, I have neither, I lodged a complaint and am waiting for the local purolator to contact me then I will contact the store to complain, door to door my butt:(

Complain , you have a right to do so. years ago my parents sent ham from the ozarks. and i waited for days, i went to town and the lady that works in our one store local deli said i had a package in their cooler for about 5 days. i was pissed number one. that they did not call me. and number two that ups did not call me. and number 3 the shipper did that. they used the excuse the truck could not come up my driveway. and that was bull also.
