I really enjoy watching the birds at my bird feeder. It is right outside my window so I can watch the little beauties, but not disturb them. It is also fun to try to identify them and find out what they like to eat, where they go, and how they nest. This spring I have been able to host some beautiful indigo buntings, and some house finches I am having trouble finding this pair on any of my bird sites. What kind of birds do you think they are?

They look to me to be Equine Vultures. I have seen them in my feeders before also.....

Pretty! I especially love those exotic birds with ears! It seems like there is an abundance of indigo buntings this year, I have seen them all over lately.

I hae a few of those strange looking bird seed eaters too. !!! i love watching the hummingbirds coming in and the variety of birds at the feeder is amazing. they come and knock on the door when the feeder is empty to tell me to get more seed in their dish.

we have several bird feeders too, if i put out regular bird seed like you have, i would have no birds! 1. they will not eat the red millet 2. they will not eat the white millet 3. they will not eat striped sunflower seeds 4. they love black oil sunflower seeds 5. they like cracked corn 6. they like thistle seeds 7. they love raw beef suet 8. they love suet/seed cakes 9. what they wont eat, they throw on the ground for the deer, turkeys, and squirrels! seems "field" birds appetites are different than "woods" birds. we dont buy # 1, 2, or 3 anymore! we also have many baltimore oriels, scarlet tanningers, and rose breasted grossbeaks this spring! i love your photos

What gorgeous birds! The little blue one is beautiful! I miss having birds around. We live in a newer area and the trees aren't very big and just this year we're starting to get some birds. At one of the acreages we had there was everything from chickadees to a great horned owl. Our last house in town that had huge trees had sparrows and even a woodpecker. Oh, I miss the birds. On the other hand we have a canal that runs right behind our house and there's a pair of Canada geese with their babies that live there.
