I saw this too and was impressed...then thought about trying to save the hunks that they can pull out from such a large opening...so...
Make the opening smaller or put a piece of grating/wire and secure to make more of a slow feeder.
I love the amount it can hold and the fact it will stay dry... Place a large mat or two under it so the horse isn't doing a sand ingest {we are so sandy down here!}...
Has many possibilities. I showed my husband and he is thinking on it... Several of these around would allow my horses to "graze" for long periods of time if I was gone for a long day or several days commitment ...would make my neighbors happier "watching" my horses and not having to put hay out... apple

Looks like a good idea. As long as you can do it so they don't knock it over. OR open the top of it. I'm feeding round bales so I did buy the bale buddy. So far it works wonderfully. Hardly any waste. As they eat it down the bale buddy folds down to the inside. A bale last longer and it has held up pretty good.

I saw that also and thought what a great idea, keeps the hay dry, and out from under foot. if a few horses you would of course need several of these in a paddock. and would cut down on the waste. some people are really able to think outside of the box>>>>

At our place we used a heavy duty volley ball net and we cover our round bales with it just like a Bale buddy. It was given to us so it was perfect!
