On a Wing and a Prayer Farm posted this photo to its now deactivated Facebook page in October 2012. by RMHP Staff New York horse farm owner Shelley Wing is facing animal cruelty charges after authorities seized 41 horses from her Essex property late last week. Authorities say the horses didn't have the proper food or water to sustain them. Wing is charged with 41 counts of failing to provide sustenance to the equines. She was arraigned Monday. It took two days to remove the herd from On a Wing and a Prayer Farm, after a citizen's tip alerted officials to the conditions. A statement from the Sheriff's Department said some of the horses were "severely malnourished" and some were injured. The investigation continues, so information is limited. On a Wing and a Prayer Farm advertises multiple services including riding lessons, training, horses for sale and breeding. An ad states "our specialty is a mix of classical dressage, basic training, and natural horsemanship methods with T Touch Techniques and Reiki as calming procedures. We are willing to work with any breed of horses or any discipline, but mainly focus on Dressage, Eventing or hunter/jumper." The farm's website was deactivated on Tuesday. American Riding Instructors Association Certified Instructor, Emily Wing, lists the farm's address as her place of business. If found guilty, each count is punishable by up to a year in jail. Wing is scheduled for her next court appearance on October 7. How can someone do this to such magnificent creatures is beyond me... From what I can find this was a nice farm and all animals were well cared for just a short time ago... now...this  It is inexcusable.... horselady...how far away are you from this place? Maybe some of the rescued could come to live with you and suffer the "cruelty" of your love, good food, good care and other horsey friends... |
I was thinking that their name described how the horses were transported to their forever home
