It's not difficult for me to "believe" in the partnership between a horse and a person. But the sticking point for me is that level of trust that Peaches won't do something which would hurt me. I mean, we can't always control our emotions and we can't always control how we respond to those emotions. But if I go off the deep end, Peaches isn't going to end up getting dumped off my back onto her head. Or if I am sick and tired of her trying to pick up my feet and I kick her, it ain't gonna do jack squat!
And so the answer in my mind is that day after day being together, developing trust in all those little things and building up to bigger things, step by step. But I don't have that. I only have weekends and that's better than I've ever had except for the first few months in 2005 when Peaches and Penny came home to live with us. I've been struggling with this for that long and it is SO FRUSTRATING.
I don't want to hijack your thread, but what you're saying totally resonates with me and I pray nearly every moment of every day that God will help me with it.
Thank you for listening.

I totally get you. Because a year and half ago I went to university, so I see my horses only on weekends too. We have to understand that horses can not realise that you work and that you don't have time, horses can't rationalize. They express their filings by actions. You must not feel bad, I am sure Peaches loves you, just in that moment in her minde something was wrong and she expressed in only way she can.

Me thinks she needs to learn another language Actually the reason she kicked me because I pushed her too far on something that she was resisting and she figured I was just not getting the message. Which all comes from wanting to get more, it is learning the lesson, "Slow down to get results faster" Oh well
