Last night we went and watched Ashley play fast pitch ball. They won the first lost the 2nd one. It was cold too!!! Today went to Wally world and did some food shopping for the weekend. Came home and cooked up a few things. Then started putting stuff in the LQ. I feel lost with it. Ever since we moved here we took everything out of it. It seems very empty now.. I'm not even sure what I need anymore. LQ it self is ready except I still need to switch fridge over to propane and fill fresh water tank. Got the tack we need plus extra halters, lead ropes, feed bagged up,extra reins. Don't need blankets as they will have stalls. Have a bucket, sponge, towels for quick clean up on horses. Tires checked, bedding clothes packed, Lint picking up 3 bales of hay and topping off truck.Have first aid stuff for both horse and us. The only thing that worries me is Jess's horse. She doesn't want to load right away and I 'm putting her in the back stall. Reno has the middle since he autographed and tore up the wall from pawing when I first trailered him alone. I'm hoping that she will back off. I think tomorrow i will do a test load with her. If she doesn't back off and tries to turn around I'm going to give her the biggest spanking so that she will want to back up..I could put Reno there but I don't want him to tear up another wall...Even though he hauls better with a buddy. So we'll see what happens on the test load with Libby. I think I'm going to take the foster doxie back to the shelter. I like him but, he wants to run off. I had to go to the end of the property the other day. The whole time calling him and whistling. He messes in the house no matter how many trips outside I take him. I'm not going to put up a fence just for him. Sad to say but he needs a fence yard. He is a snuggle bug and plays with toys and is fun to watch. But I don't have the time to be on top of him in training and I'm not going to keep him in a crate while the other 2 are snuggling in bed with us. He's younger I think then they thought. Plus I don't care that much for male dogs. But atleast I can take him back and they will neuter him and adopt him to someone, and I can give them a little bit more info on him. I hate to do it but I can't risk him taking off and getting run over or a coyote getting him. He is tiny. He would be a good little dog for a retired person that can be with him all the time...I can't, I have too much to do to give him what he deserves...Feel like a failure...

You are not a failure. You are looking out for his future. You said it, he needs someone with more time, and a fenced yard. By returning him you are not saying you would never consider being a foster family to another dog, you just don't have the setting for this dog. No one is ever a failure if they try.

bring the blanket for the horses, at least one. you might need it for something. as for the dog. you tried. and it takes time and tons of energy and if you are busy you can not do everything, if you were here i would take him from you.
anyway good luck with practice loading.

Thanks Diamond. I thing is I really like the little shiat!! He is a sweety. I even told Lint that maybe if I go ahead and get him fixed he will stop trying to mark in the house. I'm already going to have to shampoo carpets, because I can smell it.. My other 2 dogs are females. My doxie Sweet is fixed and the other one Molly isn't yet. She is going in April as the shelter is doing a special on it. They can be in for 8 hrs and not make a mess. I'm just doubting my self on giving him a fair chance..The biggest factor is that he gets out of sight and I call him. He ignores it and I'm afraid he'll get lost again, or something happen to him... What to do What to do?

Jo I thought of that. If there was a quick way to get him to NY. I would surely give him to you...You would love him..I may grab some sheets for the horse's. They won't really need a blanket. Temps will be in the mid 30's at night and 60's for the days.. I hope Libby makes a big fat liar out of me when I do load her tomorrow to see how she does.

I am sure you would. and perhaps just get him neutered and tie his ass to a front porch and crate train him. that is the only way to stop the markings in the house. and have a great time with your ride.

Once they start marking, not sure they will stop, snipped or not! To protect that beautiful home...crate is right. My dogs have large crates...they go in and out at will all day long, at night my younger one still gets locked in as she had piddle leaking problems...still not positive it is fixed and totally under control from when she awakes in the morning...spots in her bed!! My Ashley loves her "bedroom"...she is in there of her own free-will & choice more than anyplace else in the house.
I pity the horse...if she isn't a good loader and hauler, she will become one...Mingiz is on a mission..
Hope all goes well and she makes a first class liar of you.
Enjoy your weekend!!

Well last night Squeak stayed in bed with us and never got down. I thought he did as I heard a thump and I got up and was looking for him to let him out. Well it wasn't him he was still buried under the covers. It was the cat. To day he has been outside with us and so far he has come when called but still has the tendency to sneak off..So I think I will take him by the shelter next Friday as we have an appt. for the puppy for shots. Get a time for him to get fixed and the shelter will pay for it. Then try him again and see how it goes. If he doesn't change then I will take him back. I will make the shelter aware of my plan. At least I can say then I tried and he has put some weight on. I'm going to borrow a crate form my neighbor and see how that goes. He does try to please and I have caught him going to the back door and run half way back.I ask if he has to go outside and he comes and jumps up and down. So he is some what trying to tell me.. Trailer is hooked up and gps is programmed (I get lost easily) but use it more for letting me know my road is coming up so I don't miss it. Now sitting here trying to figure out if I have forgotten something...Got rain gear and muck boots. Carhart just incase. Taking tv because there calling for rain Thurs /Fri. But not sure how much or how bad. As long as it isn't cold I will ride..Got the aleve, my muscle relaxers and nite nite pills. And a bottle of Mountain Grove made wine that is more like moon shine strength that regular wine. So all that is left to to try loading Libby and see how she does in the back stall. She will load but I want to know if she'll back off the trailer. If she locks up then I have this nice short dressage whip that will sting her front legs up with. Then she will back up.. That's how I broke Reno of pawing after he tore my white wall up. No sooner than I took JR off he started.I opened the tack door ,reached in and grabbed it. He couldn't see me because of the partition and when he started pawing. I started tearing up his legs. Needless to say the first time he got it he didn't know wether to shait or go blind. But after the 3rd time he figured it out..
We will pull out of here around 8am..I will take my notebook and can tether to my phone for internet...So I will post pics in the evening or when I can..

Well Libby did ok. She locked up at the back of the trailer. So I wasn't going to have a tug of war with her. I ran the lead rope through the tie ring and held it.When she gave I gave. Finally I told Tony take your hat and bop her on the ass. She got the front end up and then finally came on in. We shut the rear bumper on her so she wouldn't back off. So I gave her a peanut butter/cheese cracker and asked her to back off. She hunkered down and went off easily. I asked her to reload and stand and she did. But she was attacking my pocket for another cracker. So she should be ok... Suppose to rain tonight into tomorrow but we're going anyways. If I have to sit in the LQ all weekend I don't care..I'm away and back to my little piece of the pie!!!
