We've never bought food for our horse because we sow oats and alfafa by ourself. And we fertilize it with natural horse manure. Without pesticides and without anything artificial. And we use straw from our wheat and oats as beding.

That is truly the organic way of feeding your horses and livestock. give back to the ground with the manure and stall cleanings and than use what you grow to feed them. oats and barley in a natural state is the best form of grain. your horses are wonderful looking without all the fancy vitamins and packaged products. 884530

Thank you. We also have our own apples and pears so when it is a season, they get lots of that. And we store some of the apples so that they have during the winter.

I had a girl living here and training some of my horses she was from russia. i loved her, she was so naive and such a sweet girl. he rode huge horses back in her country and she told me they gave the horses boiled potatoes. in the winter mixed with the food. i wanted her to stay and he chose to go back after she made up with her boyfriend.
Wish i could make contact with her. all i have is her name. and she lived outside of moscow .

We mix peara and apples in oats. and horses love it. I am sorry for that girl. I wish I could come and help you out with horses. I love to work with horses, even to clean stalls. :-)
