Three day show this weekend. And then I'll dump some photos on you guys of my show season that you haven't seen yet. I'm pretty excited. Hoping that Savvy will behave good at the show. Either way I'll make the best of it.

Is just Savvy going to this one or does Jaspar get to make an appearance too?

Is just Savvy going to this one or does Jaspar get to make an appearance too? This one is with my Eteam, so I can't bring the little fuzzball along unfortunately. But I'm sure that you'll see more photos of Jasper doing his thing. These past few weeks I have been showing with the Eteam and have had little time with him. This is our last show of the season, unless we go to state, but I'm secretly hoping that this is it! It's been fun but I'm tired! Haha, Looking forward to some fall trail rides on my pony...he needs to get out more.

Well I don't have a whole lot of pictures, not nearly as many as I thought I would. It was a covered arena and NO ONE'S camera liked the lighting so all pictures are really bad. Hunt Seat Eq Over Fences Was crazyness. we did great till the very last fence. Savvy started off very nice then for some reason tried to skip the second fence, so I redirected him and gave him his head at the trot and we cleared it. We got every single lead, but man was he fast....he wants to be a jumper again the clock apparently. I tired to ease him down but he wasn't being convinced, he pretty much told me to show him where the next fence was and get over it....it looks way better than it felt on him. I'm proud of him for getting the leads I asked for but I wish he would just chill out.....he isn't panicking or anything he's just so excited and once I ask for the lead and look at our fence he knows right where we are going and just honestly doesn't care if he has to take the jump totally sideways....that's great and all Savvy, you are talented but BLOODY LISTEN TO ME! Either way it was a fun ride and we placed 5th out of like 10 people. Many people went of course completely and several knocked a rail and picked up the wrong lead after the bounce. Hunt Seat Eq A complete disaster....he was all fired up from jumping yet and was a total nightmare for our pattern. We were supposed to sitting trot from A to B, circle B posting trot, pick up canter on right lead to C, circle C, Simple lead change at C and canter to D, stop, acknowledge judge, exit to line up at walk. Yeah I have a video of how it actually went. You can see that from the jumping he KNOWS his leads...he was just being an absolute pill here.... Hunt Seat Eq Bareback After hunt seat Eq i spent our free time pressing him under my thumb. So bareback went very well. Barrels on Misty went very well of course besides me asking her too early to turn and knocking the barrel the first time. I'll add videos and pictures later, I'm out the door right now!

Speed demon is he? Can't wait for picture and or video...I love enthusiastic horses!! When we did the indoor night time classes of the Special Olympics State Equestrian Finals with my son my camera had the same reaction. I changed my settings to nighttime and portrait and then "speed" like in sports activities...helped some but not all pictures were great by any means... maybe something like that would help you too {unless you already tried that?} Have you thought about using a "mood stabilizer" herbal of course to help Savvy not be so "gung-ho happy" doing his job... jumping-horse... rode-the-horse If you want I'll ask around what some use that have similar issues...OK...by now you KNOW I love these emoticons!!! sun

Haha! Yes Karen it is evident! I like them too! We have not, it depends on the moment...some days in practice he will be speedy but still listen when I ask him to chill and some days he'll be slow over fences and some days he is racing around. He loves to jump but he is SO inconsistent, his behavior choices are usually unfortunately very good for practice....and then when we get in the arena it's like he gets excited to be out there by himself. He is noticeably timid when we are practicing in an arena of other horses, Not so much timid but it's like he's lost in the "herd" and suddenly realizes that I'M the only one he knows so he's really good about listening...but when we are out doing a pattern where the whole arena is clear it's like he goes " WEEEEE! WE finally have the arena to ourselves!! Lets have fun!" we are bringing him down to hard walk trot work for awhile to try to get him to realize that he needs to listen at all times, then we will add cantering back in with jumping later. He'll get it eventually. youtu.be/i3tTiXUePykyoutu.be/WQzdYplJF4k

Sometimes they just do not understand when it is time to run around and time to just calm down and do the job correctly. he could be picking up some energy from you. perhaps a heel in his side or a tenseness in your hands. try to figure it out and you will be fine.
