I am really crap with my hair, I like a style I can just get up and go with so its longish layered, just had it trimmed tuesday after not being since october, I dont know if he was annoyed at me or its just me but I cant do nothing with it, it just doesnt sit right no matter what I do.
I am really crap at styling, I always burn myself, do one side Ok but other side crap or the back looks weird, I see people with nice manicured hair and dont know how they do it?
I wish I had a nice petite pixie face so I could carry off short hair!

If you like slightly curly hair you can do it without using heat tools. For exampe you can wash your hair, air dry it until it is just sti a little bit wet. Then you take a pice of your hair spin it and make a little bun. You can do like two or four buns and leave it over night, in the morning you will have beautiful wavy hair. I hope you can understand what I wrote.

Why not go back to the hairsalon and have them redo it. perhaps it was not cut right and even with a fuller face you can go to chin length and perhaps a finger wave perm . ask redzip for suggestions she is a beautician.

I am also rubbish with my hair. I usually have it long, and will either pull it back into a bun or do 2 Pippi Longstocking type braids. But then every few years I go nuts and chop it all off, then get annoyed when I can't style it half as good as at the salon. Put up with that for about 6 months, then spend 2 years growing it out again. Vicious cycle. I'm currently at about 6 months since my last haircut, and I still can't pull it back into a pony tail. Drives me crazy! How do people do it?

I got my haircut done few days ago I was growing my hair, but I didnt go to salone for 7 month and my hair was all damaged at the ends. She had to cut pretty much. I was really upset. But better to have shorter and heltier hair, then long and damaged. I had my hair almost reaching my butt, now is just little bit over my sholders :-(

Yeap me too.The last time my hair was done was in October on my B-day. I hadn't found anyone here. But I'm going to the lady that does my neighbors hair.Mine is usually straight as a board. So a cut and perm this Saturday...I hope she does a good job and I like her..I went there and made an appointment yesterday.Asked how much for a cut and perm and she told me 34$. I couldn't believe it. So well see how it turns out.....Otherwise it's going to drive me crazy. It's getting into my eyes and I can't stand it. So I wear my ball caps to keep it contained. Then I have hat hair after that....

Mingiz, I like perms but so expensive and I get bored waiting! But so much easier to do your hair I went to a beautician a long time ago, swore never again as I came out looking like a painted doll and spent about 20mins picking mascara off my bottom lashes, wasnt cheap either, Im not that good at make up either, not helped by now Im older I have droopy eyelids so sweat it off plus I seem to get irritated eyes from eyeshadow now! My hairs awful, right now I look like worzel gummidge!

Ld...I have board straight hair too. I have the front layered, the back straight with a undercut so it gently turns under touching my shoulders. Wash it, comb through it and let it air dry. If I want "lift" I put a blow drier to it and just use a round brush to hold it while the blow drier dries it...work from the roots out...cool hair sets the hair, warm/hot air dries it so a combination of drying then use the cool to set it. I have cowlicks galore so a real PITA to not have pieces sticking up and out at weird spots...
My best friend is the round brush though. Brush/comb wet hair with it then gently turned under it works... And hair goes into shock I have been told when it is first cut...takes a few days to week or more for it to calm down and for you to get used to handling it again. Those pictures of me when I was married...pretty much still the same way I wear my hair today. It fits my fuller face, my lifestyle and my lack or desire to spend much time "fluffing" myself. I have had my hair long, off my shoulders again many times and this style still works if it intrigues you. It is very simple to handle and easy to grow out as the back you leave one length...it also allows you to "dress it up" for occasions when needed. Long hair is not always the best style for a fuller face or a narrow face either...I and my sister are proof of that.
Oh.. the make-up stuff...you maybe developing a allergy to what is in it...try Almay or another hypo-allergenic brand and see if it helps. My mom has the same issues and she can only use hypo-allergenic anything on her face.
Be daring and once you know your hairdresser let them make suggestions to you in what they see fitting your lifestyle, abilities, bone structure and facial features...you may be very pleasantly surprised.
Good luck...

LOL, Yes, pictures please! IMO, everything is about a proper haircut. If it isn't a good cut, it isn't going to lay right, do right, etc. I've seen beautiful color, and hilites, look a thousand times better with the right cut. Also, I always tell people, look at pictures and find styles you like. The more examples you have to discuss, the better the understanding between you and your stylist. Sometimes people think they know what they want, but are using the wrong terminology. That can be disastrous if the communication is wrong. A proper consultation is really important.
And there can be more than one hc going on on one head. The back, sides, top and front, can all be connected, or disconnected, depending on the style.
So post a picture and I'll be more than happy to give my professional assessment At least before you go back to have anything redone.

On don't get me started! I can either style my hair or get to work before noon; I can not do both Stylists who can cut my hair properly are few and far between. So far I've found only two places that cut my hair well; one is 3.5 hrs away and the other is 5 hrs I just changed stylists this last cut and its close so I think I can work with her over time... at least that's what I hope.
