This is the easiest dessert that a person could put together and if you have the ingredients in the house company shows up and you just dump the items in a pan and . two cans of cherry pie filling. one box of yellow mix and butter. that is it. put the cans of pie filling into a pan and dust with the box of mix and drop butter here and there on the top, i use about a stick and at 375 until all bubbly. serve with ice cream or whipped cream easy as pie. lol smileys-home-510691

We made that when camping over a wood fire...was delicious and a super special dessert treat.
No fancy motorhome or travel trailer, we tent trailer camped and used a Coleman stove and ice chests for our refrigeration and cooking...to "bake a cake" was quite a undertaking and adventure.
This "cake" was a huge success...and tasted great!!
Enjoy.......

I use canned peaches that mini had... I didn't add anything to it, the juice was thick enough.

You can take the peaches and simmer on stove and add a tad of cornstarch to thicken them. I made one but I used 2 quarts of canned peaches and then I took some cinnamon and sugar and sprinkled over the peaches before I put mix on and drizzled the butter on top. They came out much better....Nice crust too!!

It just amazes me how you said you will eat it after dinner, we usually have deserts after luch, not really after dinner. For dinner we eat light food.

Lipizzon our dinner is after our work day, usually at night after 6 or 7 pm is the normal time. and lunch is lighter because of working schedules of families are usually separated, so when we have desert after dinner it is before bed time and the leftover goodies can be eaten at any time. smileys-coffee-876033

Well I did a white mix with about a pint of sliced strawberries. it said to add 3/4 sugar over berries but I had presweetened them so I didn't add sugar. And a stick of melted butter drizzled on top. Added pecans also. It didn't come out bad but it didn't come out the way I thought it would. So next time I'm going to try one with a yellow and it calls for crushed pineapple and strawberries. So I thought I would try that and add nuts and after it cools down put melted chocolate frosting over it. Almost a banana split!!! Everyone liked it. We had cool whip on top and it was good but needed more mixture density to it.It was more like a crisp than a cobbler... smileys-home-510691 Hey I'm no Paula Dean... smileys-coffee-876033

Mingiz...think about adding 1/2 a package of instant pudding dry mix to your recipe. It will increase your density and volume in the pan and especially of rising during baking so use a deeper pan or safeguard your oven bottom with a overflow pan just in case... smileys-home-510691 coffee...yummy!!
