This is back in the early 80s. This was me and my first horse Dusty. This horse was just as green as I was. But by the time I sold him he was dead broke..I think I was in my early 20's..

Love it!!
Here is a picture from the 80's of me and my first horse, Heidi. She was the best first horse a horse-crazy teenager could ever hope to have.

Log in then go to your pics. Once you get to the pic you want Then open the pic To the right of the screen you will see Links To Share This Photo Click the one that says IMG When you click on it you should see it say copied... Then go back to the thread where you want to post it and just right click with your mouse and paste the pic. You will see a link. Then when you post the pic should be seen Hopes this explains it better..

Test picture of my first horse Gypsy. Morgan mare Next pic is of Gypsy's 'Mistake'. She was boarded at a stable, got turned out with a newly gelded Arab, and Oppps,.., look who showed up. Try explaining to your father how you didn't do this on purpose!!?? And I didn't!!! I have to create a new post for my other horses! To see these in a better, larger view, just tap, and they will be easier to see. Thanks for looking, I'll post other pics later

Here is a picture of my cousin and I riding her pony. She was afraid of him so I always got to ride up front. It was probably taken about 1960 or 61 This is a picture of Dad, and my very first horse Ringo. It was probably taken in 1963. I not sure if he was quite two, the first time I tried to ride him. My cousin and I had put him in the barn so we could ride the pony. Once we finished I was standing on the barn gate and Ringo was standing right there so I slipped on his back. He walked around a little bit then he sort of spooked at a cat in the barn. I got scared and tried to slip off him and onto a broken out window, at least that was my plan. Well I missed the window ledge and fell right out the window, splat on my back. It knocked the wind out of me so when my cousin ask me if I was ok, I couldn't answer her. She ran into the house screaming that Ringo had bunked me out the window, and killed me. I was fine, but Dad traded Ringo for an older well broke horse. It was probably for the best. So now you all know why I wanted Chief so badly. Sometimes we just have to reconnect with out childhood. Well except for falling out the window part. I'll leave that in the past.

DG, your Appys are/were very gorgeous. Thanks for sharing your pics I absolutely love that I can connect the 'dots' of my life, one horse at a time,.., dogs and cats too!! I'm not sure my husband always understands the 'critter' thing, its definitely something my Dad and I shared. Luckily, my husband is very tolerant, and enjoys the critters too.
