Hello all! This feels kinda funny since I think I know most of you already (at least I recognize many user names on here!).  Anyways, my name is Sam, I'm 28 and as you can see I live in Ontario. I live on a 25 acre farm with my fiancé and we currently have 20  , a bunch of hens, 13 pigs, 4 horses, 1 donkey, 1 calf, 3 dogs and a bunch of cats. Our goal is to make this money pit of ours pay for itself by producing and selling naturally raised pork, lamb, beef and eggs. I milk cows for a living, 260/day and I love it! So I think that's about it, I look forward being apart of this forum! |

Hiya! What part of Ontario are you in? We moved our here to Alberta a year and a half ago from Ontario. Been just over a year since we were home...getting a bit homesick.

Welcome....and YES...there are many of us from their, here... minus the drama!!
This is a quiet place we all hang-out in often now.
Adults only, we can and do discuss, ask, answer and sometimes "crank" at, and to others concerning certain things.
We though all respect each other and bounce ideas and information to help each other as we need... it is a great feeling.
We all love our animals of various species...that being a common goal has brought us together as friends.
Glad you have decided to join us and also become friends....look forward to your input and posting.

Hiya! What part of Ontario are you in? We moved our here to Alberta a year and a half ago from Ontario. Been just over a year since we were home...getting a bit homesick. Your farm sounds awesome! I'm in SW ON, the closest big city would be London and it's 15mins away - too close. We live in an area that is big on gravel pits, and I secretly hope that one day our farm will be sold for that so we can move North and buy more acreage. Where are you originally from? |

I was born in London but we moved to the Aylmer/St. Thomas area when I was 12. Then Hamilton for university, then Mississauga for work. Now Alberta. Winters suck here, but there's so much countryside around! Haven't figured out if I want to stay - land is probably cheaper here, but man the winters can be harsh!

Well if it makes you feel any better, winter sucked here big time. It was so cold and nasty that my water lines that run to each barn froze up solid. I've been reduced to dragging my stupid 'Matilda wagon' around to pail feed water to everyone. I'm so done with it!
That's neat that you are originally from this neck of the woods. Specifically, I'm in Ingersoll, but it may as well be Thamesford. I grew up North of Woodstock.
My brother up and moved out west to work on the oil rigs. Small world!

hello from michigan, our winter was harsh this year also, but probably nothing compared to yours, although it may be july before all of our  piles are gone |
