I hadn't heard from mine. He was due the 23rd of Feb. So I started looking for someone else. I need them done and have a 3 day trail ride the end of the month. So I asked CJ and he said that he is probably in Texas. I was like why? Well come to find out his brother committed suicide and his family had to get get him. Then he told me that the brothers wife had done the same thing about a month before hand. Poor guy I know he's going through a hard time. So I decided to wait to see if he answers my calls I made to him. Well Monday when I went to town with Jess and Tony. Lint called me and told me that Travis knocked on the door and told him that he lost my number and that he couldn't call me and there was no number left with the VM. and told him that he can do them the 14th. He also plows our county road. I was happy to hear that. He is really a nice guy and does a great job and is great with the horses.. Plus he's a hoot to talk to. So Lint did give him our condolences and he went on his way.. He's cheap too. 25 a trim 50 for shoes all around. I usually give him a little extra and pay cash. He told me when I first met him that he prefers cash but will take a check. And tips are excepted...So he'll drink a beer or 2 while he does the horses. I do offer.....

I hear ya LD. Back in MD. I was paying 35 for trims and 125 for shoes all around. The farrier I used was also cheaper than most. The only issue I had with him was listening to him complaining about the government..but otherwise he was always in touch if he had to cancel or if I had to cancel for a reason. Which was rare....

our guy (10+ yrs.) drives about 85 miles one way to do our 4. he does 1 big barn (11) horses, and 3 other places in our area on the same day. we pay $30 for a trim, and the borium shoes cost $150 for four, and $25 for a re-set plus the $30 for the trim about every 6-7 wks in the summer, about 10 wks. in the winter. he rarely is late, is always here on the right day we too provide a beer, or three when it is hot, and cash, plus the horses love all 6'4" of him!!
