First of all. Sorry guys if I spell something wrong or inaccurately . I wanted to tell you about my best friend I ever had. His name was Conversano Gaetana but I named him Calisto. He was born in my barn one snowy morning on January 10, 2010. First time I leid my eyes on him I could not belive how beatiful he was, I said to my dad I want him to be mine. He said yes, and then our story began. I spend every single day of his first few days in the barn with him, I just sat in the corner and waited him to come to me. First time he did I was so happy. As he grown we started to do some basic work, he was like a dog following me around. I tought him everything, I could even lie beneath him and he would not even move a bit, and he was just 7 month old. He was my everything, I swore that we would spend a lifetime together. But our dreams were demolished soon enough. When he was 1 year and 7 month old, he broke his spine, I run to him, but only I could do is hear his last breath. He died right in front of my eyes. I was crushed, I didn't want to eat or drink or sleep for a week, even now I cry when I think of him. I hope he is in a good place now, looking over me and that he is happy. In a place where there is no pain or sorrow. I love you my angel hope we meet someday again This picture is taken on a day he was born free photo hostingFirst time out photo sharing websitesAnd these are pictures taken day before he died ( Last time we were together imgurwindows screenshots toolopen source screen capture

Calisto was so beautiful! I am so sorry to hear what happened. It sounds like you really had a special love for him.
My mother is 86, and still talks about a bull she raised from a baby and the love they had. So like her, you will remember him for all your days and eventually the sadness will lessen and you will only think of how wonderful he was.
I love his markings, he was adorable!

How sad for that to happen. and some do become our guardian angels to walk beside us forever and to be in our hearts for eternity. I also know what it is like to have a best friend no longer be here in the physical but in my heart, and i also cry tears of sadness when i think of them. yes i have had a few favorites pass, it seems they know they brought us pleasure for the time they are here and decide to allow others to take their place.

Lipizzan he was a nice looking boy. I lost a mare that was my heart and soul, and still to this day I can't talk about her without swelling up with tears. They stay in your heart forever and they will greet us when our time comes....

Thank you for sharing that. He was so handsome and such a cute baby! My second horse died in front of me when I was thirteen years old and broke my heart. She was a big, not very pretty standardbred mare but I loved her so much.
