I decided to take some photos with my camera the other day and show off some of the kids. they are wondering what i was doing, and why was it taking so long for their dinner to be served. Shamurra on the left and her gelding that was left in charge of her when her mom died. his name is Encore that i got for $1.00 because he was too much horse for a lady and she could not sell him. he came to be all wired for trouble and biting and kicking and rearing. now he is a gem. Shamurra has never been saddle trained and she is 22 years old. i just love looking at her. she looks exactly like her dad. who passed away two years ago. Susie on the left my roping and reining champ that got to old to be kept so i got her so she would not get to the auction barn, still knows her stuff and loves cutting the mini horses in the field. all by herself and Cody on the right. qh gelding waiting for someone to give him a job. nice all around horse. i got him from a girl who was going to college and could not afford to keep him . TidBits, 22 years old and the son of my bay arabian stallion and 1/2 brother to shamurra. he will always be my little boy.

Diamond the Bay, have him for 20 years now, got him from an auction and is my best friend, always says hello and does nothing wrong. The pali is Glitter whose brother is also pali and he is summer sun gold rush, ( i get them confused sometimes ) who was born here from a rescue mare. i still have the mare and his father. he is about 13. saddle broke and pretty to look at. the grey in the back is Lacy, 25 years old and bought from a killer , all beat up and scared and petrified of people. she has the whip marks in her hair that are visible every summer. i promised her a life time of love and peace. summer sun gold rush . Oh and we all need one of these lol

Sweet...each as special and beautiful as the next. All enjoy love and good food by their looks and "what you doing mom" attitude...such a abuser you are!!! You know I am kidding totally with that remark?!!
If I ever doubted your love and care of the horse or any animal I would never call you my friend!!
....for you!!!

A large and beautiful herd! How long does it take to feed each morning and evening?
I do like the cowboy...wouldn't mind him in my herd. :-)

Between the mini herd and the main herd and the arena herd all told about 48 head it takes hubby and i about 1 hour and 45 minutes to feed. during the day we set up the stalls with hay in them fix the grain buckets for who gets what. and do water. so all we have to do is open gates to a particular area and those horses come into the barn and into a stall. the minis just get fed and water every day. the arena herd there are 14 all together and those i just open the gate and they come in, of course i do not let all the horses run into the arena at the same time. only a few are let in at a time. if everything is set up it goes pretty fast .

when i was younger (40 yrs ago...) i kept my horses across the road from my house. when it was feeding time the stall doors were all opened, the feed already in the stalls, and the big rolling door was opened. of course the 2 bossy mares were first, but all 10 horses knew where their stalls were, and very rarely made a mistake. your herd looks nice and healthy, fuzzy, and fat, not only that i think you have a horse of every color !!

Thanks for the compliment. and yes we work hard to maintain their health and happiness. and they do get confused from time to time but they work it out. no fighting and the first one in is the boss.
and i have no paints, and the clyd and the freisan are in the other field and i will share there photo soon.
