Another nice day. In the high 60's. Wind wasn't as bad. Went and got 8 round bales and put one out for the critters. Then the kids and I moved big rocks that are all around this house. Now I can use those areas for flowers. Waiting for the gang to come over for coffee. Got my lap top fixed. So I can see now!!!. Even though I like my notebook. I can use both... We put all the rocks in front of the equipment barn. It just doesn't want to dry out there. To much shade. We can't even get the hay in there. The tractor will sink in.So after those rocks sink down we will get some smaller rock delivered and get that area fixed. Tomorrow we are going to go look at a 23 cu ft chest freezer. We are going to need it for the beef we will pick up in VA.So now we don't have to tow a trailer. Put it in Lint's truck and throw generator in it.Just going to be a real PITA getting it off the truck when we get back...I see an emptying and refilling coming. The freezer is 6yro and I asked him to plug it in so it was cold when we get there..Said seals are good. So if so it's ours..225$ not bad better than 1k or more...I have found some good deals around here and people will trade for stuff also.. I gave my small 5.1 upright freezer to Jess and they had a small chest. We are going to use it for a feed bin. Life is Good.... music Lint even started cleaning p the garage..He is a pack rat and I hate clutter. I like neat....most of the time....

Busy Busy. instead of the freezer and you have to load and unload why not dry ice in crates. that way the crates can be carried in and out. you are not going to be on the road that long. OOOORRRRRRR rent /borrow a freezer truck.
hate the mud. and messed up lawns. and i hate clutter also. so nice to be able to spring clean and get rid of stuff. happy days are coming.

Thought about the dry ice. But it's a matter of where to get it. We will spend one night at a hotel. We will will lock the freezer just encase.. Can't do that with crates. We can also put cargo straps around the freezer and unload with the tractor bucket then slide it across the garage floor.. If all else fails we have enough of us here to unload it till it's lite enough to move. PITA I know. But that big t-bone will be tasty.. campfire

I would lock the door of the truck, with a huge lock and chains. lol as for dry ice i believe it last for days, where to get it? did not think of that. i would imagine some commercial food supply stores have it. I know when my power was out for a week i went to the local fire department and they gave me some of it to put into the freezer and fridge. by the time i got power back it was used up.

As a kid we went camping, real camping not travel trailer or motorhome stuff. We tent trailer camping...had real ice chests so we did dry ice if going a distance and needed to keep foods coldest for longer periods of time in hot, hot weather... Dry ice we were able to purchase from our local ice cream dealer who did those push cart things... Wrap in brown paper bags and DON'T TOUCH IT with bare fingers, ever!!! Once wrapped it went into the ice chest, then regular ice blocks then the food. Think my parents also put some dry ice in smaller pieces around the food as it stays at a lower temperature than regular ice...weird that that sounds... I know we went cross-country from LI to Mt Rushmore South Dakota and when we opened that particular ice chest the food was still frozen and ice in abundance...this was summer and HOT temps during the day of driving close to and over 100* for hours every day. Once we opened the chest it defrosted quick. Want to see something eery...drop dry ice in a bucket of water.... FOG...makes fog!! cool Enjoy that steak Mingiz...you will have earned it after all you are doing to bring it home!!
