28 year old gelding. started to drool and when i let him out he decided to go hide in the woods. he has done this before. i left him out one night. the second night i brought him in and left him walk in the aisle of the barn. he pooped peed and ate hay and drank two buckets of water. left him in again the next day . and like a magic wand was waved over him he is back to normal. soooo what is this. ill have a vet come out and look in his mouth. last time she looked at his he fought like crazy even with drugs.

Sounds to me something he ate..... Hay or pasture grass he got....as you know some make horses drool. Which one it is have no idea but I would be checking for something he got into since when you removed him from certain areas, so did the drooling he had go away. New hay roll? New bale of hay? New area he went to to graze???

Hmm your right there was a new round bale out and the next day drooling, ive seen the same thing with summer flowers. and for the life of my brain can not remember. which ones. clover.. it is clover. he is eating fine now and drinking alot of water which is normal for him .. lol
