yes and she was born her 24 years ago,, her father was my arab stallion,, the best horse in the world,, my pas and i could do anything with him,, now his daughter,, well she takes after her mother,, thats why i never bred her again,, this horse is awesome stunning bay,, looks like her dad and grandmother,,, well looks is not everything,, and because she is skittish we never really taught her anything,, yes she has had a halter on.. was lunged and saddled. but that is it,, so she had hair missing on either side of the nose, face,, and a spot that is oozzing some pus. call the vet,, and try to get a halter on her,, no way,,, i have been rubbing her and talking to her, and trying to make her understand that it is ok to be a horse, not some wild animal,, my son tried and she bolted out of the stall and almost knocked him over, soooo no halter on tonight,, i will have to wait for vet tomorrow and if she is chicken ill have to call the group and have them come and do their think,, oh with the cost being double. need to vent,, and any suggestions appreciated..

Feed through sedation so you can get hands on and look-see... Of course feed through may also be followed by injection as needed... Halter on and left on but she sounds like she is ruling the roost some too ma'am. You know the routine needed and how to do...skittish or not she must accept your touch.

HL4L i totally agree,, today did not go great,, the vet could not get near her,, so she left me with antibotics and dormosodane,, and i will work with the the mare, tonight i managed to throw a rope across her back while in a stall and she accepted it and stood still, so i removed the rope,, step one, i just need to work alone, and not have my son say to leave her alone,, im sure he is thinking i am going to get hurt,, i do not think he ever saw me work with horses out of kill pens or horses with problems,, so i will go forward with our working on trust,, and ill put a catch rope on her neck,, i hate leaving halters on all the time, i will update,,
