My little chorkie that is 10 pounds has loose teeth,, breath smells bad,, now she has one that is perhaps hanging in her mouth,, and she is not eating,, just lapping up some water,, tomorrow im calling the vet and my feelings or what is going on around here has to wait. no matter the outcome i can not let her starve or suffer,, she is a joy to have around and does not deserve the discomfort..

Hope the vet has good news for the dog. Rotten teeth, gum disease happen in dogs just like in people. Teeth get pulled, antibiotics as sounds she may be brewing a infection with the smell you describe... A softer diet offered as she heals, hopefully she will still have some teeth for chewing but you know as well as I that a dog can survive on a soft diet easily. Poor baby, she has a bad toothache someplace in her mouth....

She has a broken jaw,, i think the grinding i hears was the bone,, i do not know,, so yes pain meds, antibotics,, and eye meds as she has dry eye,, what i thought was blue cataract, is a result of an infection from dry eye, i have always tried to take care of my pets, i feel like crap that i let this go for so long, , a hold over from husband who had the attitude of "lets wait and see".. never again,, next time i see something that is different off they go to the vet, and to hell with the price, yes soft food,, i use the magic bullet ill buy baby food for her and i hope she will be ok.

Wow...don't beat yourself up over it. Things happen and she is now under care. Why the odor though? I get the fracture and other issues but the smell....what is the smell originating from.

They make a liquid food you can buy in most pet stores... Different manufacturers, different names but high protein and calories in a palatable thick liquid. I've used it when my dogs were recovering from serious illness or injury and not able to eat well. Decisions are needed if this is best for the animal and I know you will make the choice for the animals well-being. If she has renal failure, then ... Well you know there is a time and place to let them go forth over the bridge, but there is also a time to fight on... See where you are in a week...you will know and your pup will also tell you as you watch her. ...
