i got this 3 year old shitz u male that has been bounced around for the past 8 months.. his original owner turns him into a high kill shelter in new york city all matted and neglected. a rescue,, foster.. back to rescue and to another foster than me.. big sucker.. i am lady says he grumbles. well i tried to trim his bangs and he almost bit me.. i pushed his head into the wall and trimmed from over his head aiming the point down towards his nose so i can trim. snarling and biting. i take him to be groomed and he almost bit the groomer and could not get his eyes cleaned. what do i do.? if i take him back they will euthanize him i know it.. it is not his fault.. leaving him at the groomer he was pulling at the lead to come with me he did not want to stay.. my heart goes out to him. so i need to know some tricks i can use. to get his eyes cleaned. .

He won't let you pet his face?If he allows touching his face why can you not wipe his eye with a gentle solution to clean the tear stains off... If he is a biter though, you will be at risk since you must give his care... He may be afraid, afraid of being hurt but biting is a no-no especially in a rescue, and no rescue should of been adopting/rehoming out without a warning of his behavior first. That is wrong.I don't know how to fix nor deal with this.. I do know dog bites can be serious even in small dogs so watch yourself carefully. You should be current with tetanus but if not get a booster to be best protected since risk is elevated with the dog more than the horses... ..

I agree,, he will not let me.. with my hand yet with a long backscratcher i rub his face all over.. so now i need to figure out how to get cotton onto the backscratcher and rub his eyes today i wanted to wipe his body and feet with a towel as he got wet outside and all he wanted to do is grab the towel and growel and pull at it. i did not encourage it.. yes dog bites are bad, and i need to get a small muzzel. i ordered on and it is too big.. as soon and i get that on his eyes are getting cut.. yes the rescue should have been honest with me.. now this poor thing is here and he loves it.. the freedom and him scampering is a sign he is content. he was bedraggled and sad before.

Update n the biting dog, he sure is matted and hair in front of his eyes,, the foster did not get him for two weeks to take him to groomer that did him before, my groomer tried and was not successfull. the vets want a visit for wellness than one hundred 75 for tranq, and grooming,, can not afford that every 3 months, so i messaged the foster and told her to come pick him up or i will take him to the shelter.. she finally had the time to message me and and was shocked that i said i was taking him to shelter. she is picking him up tomorrow and i hve his things all packed and ready,, i think i do not want him back, im torn he is a good dog,, has come a long way ,, and is funny, BUT i can not deal that he bites, and growls, even whn i try to brush him. .. so i am sure off he goes, to another life.. sorry teddy i tried.

You tried...the foster knew and knew well the dog has/had issues of aggression.Obviously, the foster was not surprised, just very reluctant themselves to bring such a animal back into their control again. You can't have a dog you can't handle safely, no matter how you feel, the animal needs brushed and groomed and a disposition such as this is not one to be trusted. Try again with another is a few weeks...just not this one.

Well the new dog is at his plave he was before me,, i had him groomed on saturday and after him coming home he was not the same dog.. he was grumpy and not willing to go outside without a lead and when off the lead he would coome running back to the house. growling and carrying on.. i finally got in touch with the lady that i got him from and after talking her daughter came to get him.. grumbling and balking and needed to be pulled and picked up to get in the car. so i will forego another dog for a while. ill get a fish tank instead.

Dang....dogs in your area seem to have personality issues. Everyone needs a dog, guess some are just happier than others. The right one will find you yet...you have to much love to give to not have a companion.
