with all the shootings in the schools and guns that are easy to get on line or in stores.. what is YOUR opinion.?
I have pistols and full carry for 35 years and i do believe that guns should be controlled. seems as a teenage a hunting rifle can be purchased as easily as buying a loaf of bread. i bought a 22 rifle years ago and i had to wait 2 weeks to get it. so why is it that these guns can be purchased and taken out and used as a lethal weapon.

I have guns. I also have a very healthy respect for life. I don't even slaughter my own food animals. The only time I kill an animal even is if it is suffering.
Someone dropped the ball on that kid. If all that came to light after the fact had been addressed, he would not have been legally able to buy a gun and he may have also gotten the help he needed to prevent his snap entirely.
I feel that gun control already exists. It needs to be enforced. Regardless, you can tell people all day that they can't do something, but if they decide to do it, telling them that wouldn't have stopped them. I'm not saying not to have laws, but laws stop the law-abiding and give us the ability to do something after someone breaks the law. If someone really wants to harm someone, a gun ban won't stop them. There are ways to make regular guns into semi-automatic ones even without kits. There's the black market. There are hundreds of other ways to harm someone. What needs to be done is to address what is causing these people to snap. Our mental health care is severely lacking. People who should be getting help are getting pushed to the wayside. Conflict resolution skills are lacking as well as compassion and empathy for one another. Address those things and I think you'll find that gun control is not as necessary as some think it is. Gun control won't stop the violence. A bomb can kill just as many, if not more, as a gun. Drugs kill more than mass shootings every year. Drugs are illegal and strictly controlled, did that stop people from getting them illegally? No. So why would society think that stricter laws will have any better effect?
