I have been watching her and she is always scratching or rubbing. I wormed her when we brought her home and just gave her another dose yesterday. She has gained some weight. Looks like she has some dry skin. But my question is could she have lice? If so what the hell do they look like and what do I look for. Never dealt with that before.. If it is how do you treat it. To darn cold for a bath.

I used to buy a fly spray that said it also killed lice. I think it was Zonk-It. That might be something to look into if you think she might have lice.

Yeah, I'm not sure what they look like, but I just assumed they would look like human lice. I had a horse once that I thought might have lice (I thought I saw some of the little buggers), so I just bought the fly spray that killed lice too, sprayed the horse down with it really good several times, and it seemed to clear up. (For me it was no big deal to buy the fly spray, since it was fly spraying season anyway, so I figured since I was going to be spraying them with fly spray anyway, it might as well be one that kills lice too.)

I looked it up and they say if you put your hand where you think your seeing them. They like warmth so they would be on your hand..Ewww !!!So I will get a better look. I hoping that she is just itching from dry skin...If not guess who will be treating her......my daughter.....Gotta learn sometime. I haven't seen anything moving...lol

If she is trying to scratch her mane and rub her tail on stuff and has flaky stuff floating around in her hair than it is lice. get a powder for lice from tractor supply and dust from the ears down her mane down her back and on to the tail and do it again in 2 weeks and than again . you better dust everyone that she has been near and you might have to wash her pad and brushes.
I hate them.. i have minis and two get them every year, for no reason they just seem to be attracted to those two even tho they are with others. makes me itch just thinking about it.

Oh great, just what I need.. She doesn't rub her mane, more so her whole body and some times her rear. She seems to not be doing it as much since I wormed her but I will have my daughter go to the farm store here and get some. Damn ponies....I knew they were trouble... Now I itch!!! Then as I was reading your post. I looked and there was a what looked like a roach crawling on my key board. Now where the hell did that come from!!!! I'm not liking that at ALL!!!!!!!!!

A ROACH look time to call exterminator. I hear that!!!! There are bugs here that look like a roach. The only thing I can think of is Lint drug it in with the bag of pellets.. At least that is what I'm hoping. You would think all bugs would be dead as cold as it's been...Got my eyes open though..... I see you
