I got candy a year ago she was severely obese . I noticed she sweated alot but I knew it was because of her weight . Now she has slimed down but is still sweating alot .Everything is normal (stool etc... ) she is put in the barn durning the day and let out at night when it is cooler . But she sweats like she ran a marathon Dog on te other hand is dry as a bone . They have a salt block and plenty of water .Any Ideas on what it could be . I ruled out Cushings because of her age (6) .

flexy you are in hot climate are you not? By me last night it was 85 and humid at 10:00PM...no cooling breezes, just still humid air. Take into account the heat index, add the humidity factor and then figure if you are seeing a issue or is it just weather related "hot"... Horses can develop Cushings at any age although it is more common to see in "older" animals.
My grey horse sweats incredible amounts too. At 6:00AM he is soaked and soaked all day long...there is nothing wrong with him. His internal thermo-regualtor mechanisms tells him he needs to continue to cool down so he sweats. Plentiful cool water to drink. My horses have unlimited access to mineral and plain white salt to use as they need. No cushings {thankfully} that I or my vet believe and I have had him tested.
I hose my horse off every evening around dark, scrape the excess water off {if left on during the day it can actually boil and burn them!} to make him more comfortable. He hits the dirt immediately and adds a dirt layer to keep the bugs away better... Try to rinse, no soap needed, remove the salty sweat off the body if you can. It can also help the horse lift their coat to insulate against the heat and catch a cooling breeze.

I have many horses, and some sweat and others are dry, it depends on the individual horse. just make sure there is plenty of water and do what you are doing, and if inside perhaps a fan might help.

I have the same thing. One of my horses sweats a good big and some of the others barely sweat at all.
