I don't know if any of you have tried the Groom Ninja yet, but I was intrigued. I saw a video on FB showing how well they work, but I was skeptical. Could they really work that well? One of my local horse friends ordered the Groom Ninja for herself and tried it on her horses. She said they worked great, and that the hair was just flying off her horses! Hubby kept asking me if I had ordered one yet, but I was holding off. I finally broke down and ordered the set of 3 (small, medium, and large). They arrived today and we tried them out tonight. They work great! On top of that, the horses all seemed to enjoy being groomed with it. If anyone is on the fence wondering whether or not to order one for yourself, do it! They are great little shedding and cleaning tools! groomninja.com/

They sure cost a lot. For that price they have to be good.

I recently bought something very similar but called a different name. I love mine as well! It works great on Parker but I think it works even better on my grandmother's French Bulldog. If you are handy enough, you could probably make your own. It's just a wooden handle (mine is just a rectangle, not ergonomic like Terry's) with what looks like a hacksaw blade inserted so only the tips stick out. Basically it is the same concept as those old shedding blades but I think the teeth on these are sharper and with only one blade, I think it is easier to really get in there and groom them.

Looks like a wooden gripper with a shedding blade attached.. it looks like it will work.. and give the horses a quicker shedding. after the blade wears off than only thing left is a wooden block.. if you are enjoying it that is all that matters.. me. i use so many items that nothing seems to work other than old curry combs.. shedding blades and elbow grease.. and a person other than my self to groom..
