Two days after she came back home the back side of her ear came unstapled. It was only red but no blood. I decided to let it heal rather than take her back. I received a fly mask with ears that I ordered that I will have to modify to fit to cover the open ear canal. I will take her back in a week or so to have it reattached and with the fly mask ears to protect the ear from being rubbed directly on something to pull it loose. I am hopping it will heal properly so the ear canal is not an open catch all. She is in the horse trailer by herself where she has room and can look out the rear. She lets me know that she knows I am close by when going out the back door.

I have been wondering how she is doing.. and you really should have that ear reattached asap. or it will die off. sorry to say but i have a feeling she is going to need that ear re cut and attached with staples and wrapped around something to keep it steady..
again this is my opinion.. and it all is a pain in the ear.. isn't it..??

It has healed nice at the top and moves when the other ear moves. It just lays forward exposing the ear canal.

How is the Trixie girl doing . She is heeled up well with no open sore. We are now going to have her ear surgery after the first of the year. I still have her by her self in the horse trailer where there is nothing flying around to get down in the ear. She nickers every time she hears me close and wants . She is the only one of the horses that will place her feed dish where I normally feed her. She is both smart and affectionate which is what I am after in my program.
