Both had decided the electric fence was for the other horses and started to get out and back in at will. People stopping to tell us horses were out even when they were around the house. Spent this weekend working on the barn to get space to keep them in. Bella will go anywhere I take her as long as I have a lead on her. Trixie will follow me around without a lead. She will stop to get a bite of grass and it takes several (come on's) before she follows again but she does. When I set down with Trixie she still wants to get in/on my lap. She can't understand why I don't pick her up. Bella is more laid back and likes to be petted and made over but doesn't demand it like Trixie does. Both are fat for 5 months old.

Oh those kids!!!! They've got a mind of their own. I love your stories of them. It'll be nice to have barn space for them.
We've got a cattle farm down the road from us, and people are always watching as they pass on the road for calves that squeeze out of the fence once in a while.

As a breeder of mini horses.. and have had sooo many.. every year there are either one or two that have that independent streak.,,, the last one is Fashionable Fiesta a tri color filly that i promised her mother Fashionable Fern i would not sell her last daughter.. now this little 3 year old is in and out of fences.. going to the neighbors yard.( my son and his new grass is sooo yummy) and is like a lap horse.. weaning is loud and the moms cry and the babies will answer.. hopefully you will have them sold before long making room for the new crop this spring..

Sounds like you have a pair of scamps on your hand! Good luck with the weaning. I bet they're super cute.
