I hope it's alright to share this here, wasn't sure where was best. Darn, I thought it was a web site, it's a facebook page. Please let it be here until somebody can make it "legal" We all need to be aware! Or everybody knows about it anyway. www.facebook.com/fairwayfarmslangleybc/?fref=nf

www.bclocalnews.com/news/389511241.html?mobile=truefound this hope it works for all to see it. at first i thought the filly would be under a fence and running in the woods around the property but the article says they know for a fact it was stolen as the mare was tranqued. who does that??/ how awfull.. has to be someone that is close to the farm and knows the mare and how to get the foal out of there as soon as possible without detection.. cowards.

I have to admit, a baby that young being taken, my first thought was some creep thinking she looked like a tasty meal. Which really gave me chills. It does sound more like she was stolen for profit. I just wish somebody would find her, soon! Until reading your article hl, not sure where that profit could be found. She just seems awfully high profile to be stolen for meat. Please get that thought out of my head!

Poor little thing, and her mom too. I hope they find her soon.
unfortunately stealing horses for meat is not as uncommon as we would like to believe. There was a rash of it in Florida a few years ago. I remember it being all over the internet. However, I don't think this baby was taken for this purpose.

Horses being stolen for meat is not so much an issue here in Canada. I'm sure they knew her value but at the same time it's not like someone could show or compete on her in the future or even breed her and get a registerable foal so that really reduces her value. It's an odd situation.

Almost sounds like a ransom note should be happening... If she is that valuable... Or, sadly if she disappears and is insured for theft, loss of use??? IDK...can horses be insured for theft?
If she is insured someone has a nice chunk of change....and a horse!! mini-graphics-smileys-861556

I always wonder when a breeder puts high value on a baby. How can you really tell until they're a little older? Excellent breeding isn't the be all and end all of a horse's value. And I've seen some babies bred up the wazoo that were crooked or downhill or course or just didn't get the genes to enable them to do the job they were bred for.
